Default Has anyone bought any parts from ebay for their tC?

Does anyone here buy parts from ebay regularly? If so do they ever come dinged up? Look as if its been used and what not? Everything on ebay is so damn cheap but their has to be a catch right? I really want to save money while buying parts and looks as if ebay is the way to go but I've been reluctant because each item comes from a different person and you will most likely never deal with the same guy twice

Main question is ebay trusted or not?

Personally, I think you're taking a risk any time you buy on e-bay. Could be used parts, grey-market goods, or worse -- stolen. Thats why I only buy stuff on e-bay that's $50 or less. No exhaust, headers or intakes from e-bay for me...

ebay is my best friend ..... 80% of everything in my car is ebay. My only recomendation to you is alway use PAY-PAL and nothing else. Of course ebay has its consequences and benefits..

pros
you can find anything
many thins you find can be cheaper

cons
you never get your item (thats when pay-pal comes in)
late shipping
you get your item , but its not what you wanted

Ebay is a good idea, as long as you know what your buying. If it said new i'm all over it. Just stay away from the used stuff. Unless your broke, then by all means ask the seller about the product.

yea ... seriously. When reading a description on a item. ALWAYS , ALWAYS, ALWAYS.... read the wholeeeeeee entire desc. Some people fail to and when they get a item its packaged as refurbished. When the bid sepcifically stated it.

Very true about reading the whole description! One seller I bought from had some negative feedback because he labeled an item as PIAA but in the description put PIAA style or something to that effect. The buyer payed 40+ bucks for a knock-off. I recomend E-bay for any LED's that anyone may need. very cheap and great quality from what I've recieved so far.

I purchase a lot of things on Ebay, and I trust every seller as long as his/her feedback is 100 or near..I usually read their feedback before bidding, trust me it helps

never had any problems with anything ive bought or sold on ebay.......i got two sets of axis rims at basically cost, got my s2k antenna, my shift ****, pedals.......all sorts of stuff, but use yoru gut feeling, and your judgement, never buy anything from anyone who does not take a secured payment method, adn western union is not one..... read thier feedback, and even contact them before bidding....

ive been using ebay for quite awhile now... just make sure you recognize the name brand of the item and read the descriptions carefully... alot of the stuff people try to sell on ebay are cheap as well as quality.

alot of the parts such as the exhaust are immitations, tho they mention a popular brand (tsudo), it is not the exact company that made it. it is a different production immitating others work.

as a result you either gain a LITTLE of something or nothing at all....

ebay sellers will trick you, i sell stuff on ebay too and i definitely say random BS off the bat just to convince people to pay more... but i do not LIE on my auctions. read those auctions carefully

Go to http://www.paypal.com and sign up. You'll have to have a E-mail address that won't change for a while and have a bank account or credit card as the financial source. With paypal, you can easily and safely send money to people you are buying items from using their E-bay username or E-mail address. It makes money transfers instantaneous so you can receive your item sooner, instead of mailing a check, waiting for the other guy to get it and make sure it's good, and then shipping the item to you.

As for purchasing stuff from E-bay, I prefer to buy smaller items and items only from reputable sellers. Anything over $200, I would rather buy from a performance shop and pay a little extra to have peace of mind and to know I'm getting the product I'm paying for.

yeah..........thier is alot of that on ebay....... "how to get a ----- for 2$" also try to buy things instate, you can take instate sellers to small claims if they try to defraud you. ive had good luck buying things of scionlife, but your probably safer buying it off ebay, you never know you may end up with a seller like halfbreed who was ripping alot of people off on this fourm

Just like he said if you do only use paypal. I buy manything from ebay.
I bought my Injen CAI, Alphawerks header, Weapon-r Damper. Just be sure to read everything don't skip a word of the description, title, shipping, and payment. Most of the time where people get you is the shipping. make sure it says new in box. Paypal has your back. If you do get screwed over as long as long it comes in diffrent than the description or it doesn't work then your covered.

So far I've bought:

- my Injen intake ($205+change shipped)
- my PIAA turn sig bulbs ($14 shipped)
- my S2000 antenna ($15 shipped)

All through eBay. I work night shift, so I spend most of the good business hours asleep. Plus all the good shops around here aren't...around here. They're close to an hour away from my city. =\
