Default Alphawerks header and CC S-pipe Help!

Ok so the place that installed these pieces said that they had to grind down another gasket laying around the shop to make it fit together. They did use the spring bolts but there does not seem to be nuts on the side of the spring bolts front side. They said the spring bolts thread through the header and do not need nuts/washers and must be flexible.

I ask because I swear I smell fumes from the front of the car and wonder how good the seal really is and this bolt question is also on my mind. Anyone have a perfect fit gasket idea? Also a little ____ed because the side mounts did NOT line up either on the header to the oe mounts so those are not being used. They said they may be able to cut the brackets to make it work but I held off.

Thoughts?

Scott

FYI, the pipe will probably smell as it gets hot and burns off any residue and greasy hand prints that may have been on there. By grindiong the gasket, are you talking about the donut gasket at the header or at the s-pipe to mid pipe connection (im not sure if there even is a gasket there)?

The donut between header and S. You would think some one would have addressed this by now.

My factory was fine but did not fit well. Why did you buy another one?

I got a new one just in case the original has gotten crushed from the initial header install. I didnt want to have to get under the car again if it turned out the original one was leaking.

i only used one of the lower side mounts

the passenger side mount is the only one that fits.

as for the smell. if your header are new then its jus the metal burning and conditioning and stuff. no biggies. the smell will go away.
