I'm looking to install a reverse camera on my TC because my window tint is the back is so dark I can barely see anything. My car is in the shop right now because I bumped into something and put a big dent my bumper. :nails: I don't want to remove the rear tint because it prevents cops from see when I have a movie going on my flip out. Does any one have any suggestions on where to mount with out drilling into my new bumper?

Is it illegal to have a movie playing? Although you shouldn't actually be watching it...

I'm having the same problem too. I was thinking about taking off part of the tint to mount the camera inside the car.

If the camera unit is small enough, why not inatall the camera off to one side of the third brake light lens by drilling a hole through it and pushing the camera through the back, sealing the opening against the lens with silicone from behind. The ends of the third brake light do not have any bulbs/illumination anyway.

yes, in fact in california its illegal to have a "tv" mounted forward of the driver seat......so yes, it is obviously illegal to drive while playing a movie in the front while driving

How about taking out the SCION emblem and mounting it somewhere behind that?

Moved to Electrical though.

Try this guys, take out your keyhole for the hatch and mount a camera in its place. Accele Vision makes a camera that will fit perfectly. hope it helps

tC's don't have a keyhole. There's a button above the license plate to open the hatch.

Well I still have not come up with anything that doesn't involve me making a big hold in the car. :( . I'm trying not to have a repeat of messing up more bumper when I get my car out the shop next week. Does anyone know where to get those licence plate cameras cheap?

well if it helps i found to put the cam in the lic plate by following the path of the xm radio att. routing it to the top of the roof into the rear hatch into the back and into the rear gromit, hard part use 2 screwdrivers to widden the gromit turn the gromit into itself to make it go in> to fit cable that the trunk release then come out the side of lic plate light then mount it to a lic plat frame

are you plannin to get a spoiler anytime soon?

if so, mount the camera on the spoiler.
or like someone stated above,
place the camera where the scion emblem is

I already have the lip spoiler, I guess if I had a regualar spoiler it would work. :nails: I am a little worried about drilling a hole in the trunk. It seems like that could work. I just want to see how it looks on someone elses car first.

I'm also looking at puting a camera in the front behind the grill. I would like to lower my car but i'm affraid since the lip of the ground effects kit is barely making it over the curb. A front camera will keep me front hitting it.

They actually make license plate frames with cameras built in, but I dont know how well they work. If you can do what ninjaionsobe said and wire it through the same path as the xm radio or perhaps the license plate light, it might be an option.

I not to sure on the quality of the picture for those licence plate cameras. I may end up going with the Pioneer ND-BC1 cause i've heard it have very good quality and it unversial. I will probably follow what ninjaionsobe said on how to route it to the license frame. I'll try this in a couple of weeks, today I just recevied my underbody led kit and I have to save up again.

If anyone mounts a camera please post pics
