the gauge of wire you need should be listed in the manual. as for where to mount the crossover, mount it where it won't be seen, like somewhere in the trunk. i hid mines underneath my false floor with some double sided tape. i know the manual will say to mount it as close to the speakers as possible but it will work just fine no matter where you put it.

I put my x-overs in the kick panel and ran 16 ga. wire through the door. that way the x-overs won't get wet.

as long as they're actually mounted somewhere and not just sliding around it'll be ok....and as long as water or anything won't get to them

not too bad.....gotta run it through the boot in the door jamb.... you'll havta run wires in there to get to the speakers anyway (as long as you're amping the components.....

My MB Quarts Premium crossover was mounted behind door panel. with a bracket to hold it in place., pretty clean didn't block the power windows at all. Did pretty much the same thing for back too.

rofl, 12ga for any installation. you know, 9/10 installers swear by really thick speaker wire but 10/10 cant tell the difference. how you run the wires, the quality of the speakers, the power of the amps, all determine the size of the wire you need to keep from losing audible signal. most people dont need more than 14-16ga.

it can be a real pain and running all that wire sucks. if i could have payed someone
$75.00 to do it for me, i would have. unfortunately i was dead broke by then so i had no choice. if you aren't positive you are up to the task, pay to have it done. that way you won't have your car in pieces while you figure out what you need to do. my car was apart for over a week because i kept running into stupid noobish problems. i wouldn't have been able to get it done at all if i didn't have my buddy helping me out. but then again, i ran 2 sets so it was double work and a lot of customization to get everything to fit just the way i wanted. sorry about the negativity but sometimes a reality check is a good thing.

If i get a 4 channel amp. I would run 2 channels to the rear. Would i then run the other 2 channels to the front speaker and the tweeter?

p.s. this is for factory speakers
