Default What did you get for free?

When you bought your xB, did you try and get anything for free from the dealership? I am going to try and get something or try to lower the cost of car (doubt it). But if you got anything for free or have any tips for me in trying to let me know. Thanks

I didnt get anything for free when I got mine, I doubt anyone has. the only thing that changes from dealer to dealer or state to state is doc fees, correct me if im wrong they are set at $20 in RI by the state. I've heard of some outrageous $500 doc fees, so make sure you check that. they are very scrict on the pure pricing, but will rape you on used scions.

you cant get ____ from scion.
they have "pure pricing" which means its already reduced as much as they can.
they wont go a cent lower.

i offered to take a 16k mile PW off of the lot instead of waiting if they threw exhaust on, and they said they wouldnt.

I had some issues with the dealer not telling me about the "boost" program and I got my Xb 3 days before the launch of the incentives being offered. I complained at Scion.com and got a free hat, flip flops, keychain, antenna topper, and a Scion t-shirt. Not to mention the $50 dealer gift card that followed the first package they sent me. I was satisfied with their response to my complaint. My car had some excess miles put on between dealers and they didn't clearly explain that fact before I picked it up. I thought 453 miles on a "new" car was excessive, but they explained it had been driven from Portland to Southern Oregon a couple of times for other buyers that fell through. Other than that, I love my car. The dealerships are inflexible to say the least. Go directly to Scion with your issues if you have them...

Got nada, nor did I expect anything.

There may be, or have been, markets where dealers needed to sweeten the deal. But with demand the way it is now, anywhere that xB's are sold before they even come off the boat, why would the dealer need to? We're lucky to pay list for a hot-selling car like this.

The only exception I can think of is for individual cars where a dealer has stuck $3k worth of options on the car, "on spec." Even then, most places, they'll be able to sell it as it stands just because it's already there.

Any dealer that does throw something in the deal is breaking covenant unless they give that to EVERY Scion customer weather they ask for it or not. Dealerships will not risk their allocation to make just one car deal.

Believe me or don't, but even employees pay what you pay for a new Scion and nothing extra gets thrown in.

I got the lighted cup holders, exhaust tip installed when I didn't even ask for them. 3 extra oil changes, and the car salesman bought the radio out of my volkswagon for $100.
It only took them 5weeks to get me the car

I got 3 keychains, the electronic device holder that fits in the cup holder, lifetime free oil changes due to the fact that they were not ready for me when I went to pick up my xB and had to wait. The salesman that sold me my xB was fired for poor salesman ship that was free too!

I had to wait 5 HOURS once I got to the dealership to pick my car up before I could get it. I called up to see if it was ready and they said it was, I could come on down. Keep in mind the dealership was about 45 minutes from my house. I got NOTHING for that. Going to Fox Toyota this time. That place is crawling with nice people lol

Only thing I got was that the salesman got me a better interest rate than what I was supposed to get. He was pretty nice since my dad has been going to him for years. And the dealership has a deal with castrol that if I use their oil they will extend the warranty on the engine an extra 12,000 miles past factory warranty.
