oh man oh man i hate grey
well yesterday i started a new project: Degreying my interior. this has to be the worst part of the TC in my opinion. so i decided to go all black. the roof, b-pillars, etc. anything that was grey is now black. ill get some pics up asap. BTW, i used dupli-color interior paint. i already know what some will say" spray paint is bad, it wont last blah bnlah blah, i can vouch that THIS specific brand is great. i have used it before in other cars (not just mine either) and it lasted the life of the car. reason being, the parts that were painted black dont get wear and tear. now if i did a seat or something like that it would be different. i am happy with the results, and hopefully scion gets their ___ in gear next year and gives us interior color options
I like black interior pieces too... but, spraypaint?
I was thinking about (on my other car) having a bodyshop sand and paint all of the interior plastic to match the body paint, but it's costly.
What type of surface prep work did you do? Any sanding?
Can't wait to see pics.

you guys will have to trust me on this. i had a extra drivers side b-pillar froma warranty job (for some reason they give ma back all the items that are jacked up lol. but anyway, i used dupli-color for years. if you get the cans that have the blue nozzels, they spray very similar to paint gun sprayers ( i used to to paint) for the plastic parts, i used a 180 grit sand paper to get it rough, then went to a 400 grit then paint.used a 1000 grit between coats, except for the final coat (3 coats total) for the fabric, i used a adhesion promotor. and painted those pieces. now with the fabric, i had to spray more coats (5 total) due to the soak of the fabric( it would soak the paint in and look grey again.) you guys will seriously have to trust me on this, like i sais i have been using this product for years with no disappointment. i just hate the grey, it makes it look cheap in my opinion(although they are price cheap! lol) but i will get pics
i trust you on this....i do. spray painting the interior (including apparently fabric), provided the results that you were looking to get (and were certainly not as "cheap" as the factory appearance).
but, let me get this straight. you used dupli-color spray paint to paint the fabric covered pillars of your tC?
i'm in awe. truly. cannot wait for the photos.
btw, does your interior look "less cheap" like this one from a post back on June27, 05?

[/sarcasm]
