Ok I've been searching for awhile now and I still haven't decided what springs to get. Every drop looks decent but I'm more concerned about performance. I want to know what is goin to give me the best handling car possible without coilovers. Also I don't mind how rough the ride is either! So what are some of the spring rates and opinions on the performance of springs?

TEIN s.tech's i believe have the stiffest spring rate for springs..

as for coilovers, the tein coilovers are teh stiffest.
the softest coilovers right now is the progress.

but dont be fooled just because the spring rate is low doesnt mean it lacks performance, the shock strength plays a role too.

i dunno how strong any of the shocks are for the coilover kits

I just installed the TRD spings and shocks  and raamaudio posted some pretty technical info concerning the tC suspension that might help you make a decision in my thread

he also started a new thread here:

Please read my last new thread, some truth there for you about handling.

Another thing to consider is NOT getting progressive rate springs. They can ride better overall but when you are deep into a corner and hit a major bump they can compress to thier stiffer rate and the suddeness of this can severly upset the chassis, when you need it as stable as possible.

I have made sure to not use progressive rates springs since having them one time;)

Agree with the last post, moderate to somewhat soft springs with stiffer shocks is going to perform much better overall, I have been doing this since the 70's and always go for that approach.

I have passed race cars on race tires on a road course with a street car on street tires because thier springs were so stiff they were skipping accross the course on the corners, really;)

Giong to test some softer springs on our Tein SS-Ps soon:)
