Well, I could steer you toward Bluegrass! "Long Black Veil" anyone?
Ever hear about the banjo player who was so far out of tune that even the other banjo players noticed? :)
jsa3mm 10-25-2005, 02:20 AM check out...some stuff by KRS-One if you can dig on hip-hop.
hotbox05 10-25-2005, 02:24 AM krs one. never liked him. i dig on alot of hip hop but never have liked him.

mikochu 10-25-2005, 03:58 AM Bluegrass owns me. My programming teacher in high school used to "blast" Bluegrass during class...
ILLCRXSI 10-25-2005, 06:01 AM country music is a virus that has taken over the country. everyone all of a sudden thinks they are a cowboy or cowgirl
firstkingofbeer 10-25-2005, 06:20 AM ^^^ yeah and they have probably never even been close to a cow too.
matt_a 10-25-2005, 11:51 AM I have pretty diverse taste in music. I can listen to and enjoy a WIDE variety. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be classic rock (The Cars, older Arrowsmith, .38 Special, BTO....etc). But I will also listen to some country and yes....even rap/hip-hop. Personally, I miss when black artists would actually sing! Stevie Wonder is awesome. If I want to totally relax, I'll listen to classical. So there's nothing wrong with country music. Just NEVER admit to it. :P

Better than when everyone and thier grand father were listening to gangsta rap and trying to be "hard". And the white people thought they were black. Thank God Americans are starting to stray from that poopie.

hmmm, don't know if I could code while listening to Bluegrass!
BTW, Bluegrass isn't good for romance, since most of the lyrics are about wronged lovers doing each other in in gruesome ways. Rap lyricists could take lessons.
George
i'm into the some of the americana music
godda love commander cody music good truck drivin(semi trucks) songs
X_Box 10-25-2005, 11:25 PM rascal flatts is awesome!
TheScionicMan 10-25-2005, 11:38 PM Hank jr, baby.
It's just a Family tradition...
BTW, this expalins your current state of depression.
You need to play Country Music backwards. Then you'll get you girl back, your truck will un-breakdown and your dog will return...
"We gots both kinds of music - Country AND Western..."
i don't want my ex back thats for sure
RedneckwithanxB 10-26-2005, 12:42 AM but if my truck will be unbroken down thaht would be awesome
ILLCRXSI 10-26-2005, 01:10 PM i try to have an open mind about everything and let people just live their lives, but i just can't do that with country music. i hate it too much. whenever i catch one of my friends listening to it they have to hear a 1/2 hour long rant about how stupid that crap is and why we should bomb the red states.
matt_a 10-26-2005, 01:42 PM ....and why we should bomb the red states. If you bomb the red states (the vast majority of the country), then all you have left is a cesspool. :silly:

jonathan 10-26-2005, 07:37 PM I don't know if anyone else has heard it, but I have a CD called "Pickin' on U2 A Bluegrass Tribute." It's actually very good. If you like bluegrass I'd recommend it.

Who is the artist?
George <--trying to picture Bono with a banjo...
jonathan 10-26-2005, 10:42 PM I have the CD at work. I'll look at it tomorrow for you.
jeffrgunn23 10-27-2005, 02:04 PM One country and I have really been into lately is Roger Clyne and the Peace Makers. They are not really really country more like alternative country. Roger Clyne was in the Refreshments a few years back (the band that does the theme to King of the Hill), now he's gone with a more country sound. Check out their website www.azpeacemakers.com . I also reccomend the CD Live at Billy Bob's.
