Default axel back and intake ?

i need an axel back, i would like one that is quiet but has a deep tone, nothing too loud any suggestions. oh also price is somewhat of an issue right now, so if anyone knows were i can get one for a pretty decent price, i would be more than happy.

also, i was lookin at an intake, i ran across the YDR intake, now is that only for the xB or will it fit the xA? cuse its a good price, and i would be more than happy to get that one. any and all feedback is most graciously appreciated

The Injen Short ram intake seems to be popular with xAs and pretty cheap

The cheapest exhaust is Stylis's Magnaflow. It is very popular on this site and I haven't heard any bad things about it.

My main worry is that the muffler will sound goofy on a slushbox...

I have the injen RD and its probably the best thing i have in my car, besides my suspension. I also have the Invidia axle back muffler. Thats a thing of beauty, i havent heard the greddy or the dc sports but i know that the invidia sounds BEAUTIFUL! When i first installed it and turned on the car i could NOT here it, but as time went by and the car started warming up to the exhaust, its provides avery nice deep and quiet roar when stepped on. If you take it easy you wont even know its there. I also have a header (cheapy ebay header) and let me tell you with the injen header and exhaust i can now beat my brother's 91'automatic honda accord. Which when i was stock would kill me.

The www.precisionmuffler.com Axleback is nice. Deep tone, not ricey at all. The oval canister is used for the Auto tranny and doesn't give the droning sound at freeway speeds that the round canisters seems to give.

IMO, the only real difference in sound is that you don't get a clean cut-off with an auto like you do with a stick but that's not due to the muffler and it doesn't sound bad to me.

My favorite is dropping into 2nd when slowing. Sounds really sweet...

That is a nice pic!! And theblurring of sound is what I was talking about...I guess all the ricers around here nearly ruined the sound for me. I just want a deeper tone, something subtle...
Thanks for the heads up on the oval tip...

I bought it on ebay for about $200 plus another $40 for shipping (Puerto Rico). Im very happy with the intake the only part i didnt like was the fact that i had to take off the bumper, girlle and headlight to install, not a simple honda install ill tell you that much.

I think it is a Mass AirFlow sensor... it is tied into the ECU to adjust the fuel/air ratio... I could be wrong, it's early in the day...

Yes, that's right. It's the square shaped electronic device that you attached to the hole on the side of the SRI.

The quietest axleback out on the market that I know of right now is the TANABE Hypermedallion axleback.

A good friend of mine did sound reading on at least 6 different axlebacks, and the Tanabe was the quietest, not including OEM.
