Default WowguyTc turbo update

Well when i talked to kenny he told me a few things to check out before shipping my turbo off to him, which i did and everything was good. I shipped out the turbo last wednesday and just waiting for either that one fixed or a new one to return. With the refund i was going to get the intercooler but doesn't look like that will be out anytime soon, so i changed it to Greddy emanage and AEM wideband. I got the emanage for future projects, i plan to buy my friends stock srt4 intercooler and do some custom piping. All this will go down once the car starts running again. Kenny has been very helpful throughout this horrible time and doing what he can. I am also very impressed with them by fixing scionspeeds problems. Im glad i chose yall ZPI, keep up the good work.

I wouldnt just go out and buy any intercooler...theres a lot to look at when dealing w/ intercoolers for your setup. You could actually slow your car down by adding the wrong intercooler and creating more lag for yourself. You should take into consideration the design of the core/how many rows, the end cap designs, etc.

i told kenny about this and he said it would be a good setup for my car. its kind of a small intercooler so i dont think it would put to much more lag, plus i just want this car to run safer once i get it running again. just waiting on the turbo......3 weeks without a car sucks, (not zpi's fault, mine for taking so long)

Glad to hear you're able to start working out the issue.

Nice idea of custom piping...keep us updated on that project.

With the wideband and emanage - I had Kenny weld another bung on an S-Pipe and it is a perfect distance from the turbo without the need to torch the down pipe.

Hey sciondad, did you get an s-pipe with ur kit? i thought this was included and also heard he was out of stock and that we would be getting them later. If that is the case then ill just weld the bung on that pipe, no use on putting it on the stock one. Anyways Kenny said the seals on the turbo were bad, just needs to find out why. He said he would send me a new one. Sucks, wonder what went wrong so this doesn't happen again. Sciondad what kind of sparkplugs did you get and how'd they turn out. Ill keep yall updated when more info comes.

Its possible that one or more of the fittings for the oil return line had to much gasket maker on them and the oil build up in the turbo caused the seals to blow out. Its been known to happen before.

No, I didn't get one with my kit. I just ordered it a few weeks ago with the additional bung welded on for the wideband gauge. I just got it a few days ago. He welded it right past the flange so it is within 20 inches of the manifold. You could also put one one right past the first 02 sensor, but I didn't want to cut mine up since I already had it coated.

Yea, I figured the seals were bad. Not really anything you could have done. Just make sure when you put it back together, make the oil return line as short as possible with no dips. ZPI sends a long piece, I probably only used 18" of it. Other than that, stuff breaks. It's just great to see ZPI send out a replacement. That's quality service.

The spark plugs I changed to are the Denso IK22 Iridium. Huge difference with a colder plug. Well worth the change. I didn't tell my daughter I changed them and she knew I did something after driving to work.

Keep us updated and let me know if I can help you with anything.
