Alright folks,

It has been a long awaited time for the Poker Run that keeps getting moved around from date to date

We are Finally Ready!!!

Details ready for release are

Start point is CamelBack Scion at 3:00 PM. Roll out time will be 3:30 PM
Finish Point is on the West Side. Location to be released soon enough!!


First Item on the agenda is we will NOT condone Racing, Speeding or erratic driving of any kind

This is to be a fun, exciting and SAFE event

So lets start with the guidelines that are ready to be released.

First the cost of the event is the gas to get to and from the event. The course will take $6.22 in gas IF you drive the speed limits at all times.

-You will be required to sign a disclaimer stating that you will be solely responsible for your actions.
- Each car will get a number assigned to it.
- Each car will leave 5 minutes apart from the starting point.
- Each car is HIGHLY recommended to bring a Co-pilot to read the instructions to the driver. Again to stay safe.
- Each car will receive your directions at time of roll off.
- You will need to make a Total of 6 stops along the route
- You will receive a card at four of these stops and the other one you WILL be required to make a small purchase of an item (total cost of event below)
- The event will cover roughly 80 miles somewhere in town. Dont ask since you have to find out at the event. That is half the fun right!!
- Your Checkpoint stops will be clearly marked by seeing other Scions there and/or volunteers waving you down.
- You will get to draw one card at each location. Of course you dont get to see it first, LOl

We will have prizes and awards to give away to the winners. In case you havent done a event like this let me help you understand what the point is. You basically want to build the best poker hand possible on the course while having fun and seeing the city. At the LAST location you will get your last card to build the best poker hand. We highly encourage people to bring cameras and video cameras if at ALL possible. There will be people working the Checkpoints and they will have cameras so make sure to Smile as you are trying to get the best card you can!!

For those with video cameras. WE would like to make a video of the event for everyone to see at a later date.

Possible winning hands could be, but limited to or guaranteed to be a winning hand

The prizes will be awarded and the winning hands will be announced at the end of the event.

1st Best Hand

3rd Best Hand

Worst Hand possible

Person with the closest exact drive time of the course that we will determine (Think Safety)

Okay now the Not so fun part -

Penalties

For the Five cars that complete the contest the fastest. We will be breaking up your hand and you will get to redraw another card to try and salvage your hand.

You will be required to purchase items along the route. If you choose not to do so then you will NOT receive a card at your next stop. Make sure to show the Checkpoint your item or you will have to go back to the car and get it.

If you dont find the landmark on the route and recite it to the Checkpoint you will NOT be allowed to get a card.

It should be. The goal is to have a minumum of 50 cars at this event. The more the merrier. Last time I did a poker run there was a total of 85 cars that attended.

That created some serious chaos, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

OK, this is going to be a blast. Maybe this will bring back some of our long lost love.

Yes, it is for all ages and we will probably go into 8-9 ish. something like that. The run itself will go for around 3 hours depending how fast you drive it and it you get lost.

No worries though, if someone gets lost the map will tell you where we are going to end up.

This is awesome! We are already at 16 people signed up for the event. There is still plenty of time to sign up on Scionetics so please do. I know some that are calling in sick to work or taking that day off. No names mentioned here:)

The goal for the EVENT is MORE Scions than we have EVER Had in one Place. Ltes try to get 70 Scions in one place.

Just finished up the driving route and boy do we have a good one.

Lets just say if you dont pay attention you might make a wrong turn or two. (ok maybe three). Make sure your co-pilot can read the directions to you!!

Will both be eligable to pick cards at the checkpoints. Since I don't have a co-pilot I was going to team up with someone from our group, so that means I won't be driving my box around but will I still be able to play my own hand besides the driver playing theirs if I bring all of the required items to the run?? sorry if I am making this confusing but I was thinking about this and wanted to find out

But, as a gesture in recognition of the extreme interest, the flyer will be available as a download off the event info (Roll Call) page on Scionetics as of tomorrow, November 10th, 2005 at 10:27PM local time. It will be a PDF and will not be graphics intensive so you won't kill your printer cartridges (or, in Chad's case, use up too many of your Crayons).

Yeah I just realized that while I was going to the airport what it meant. Took a while. Yeah I wish I could call in sick for work, but when you're in the military it just gets to be a hassle with a small shop and sick calls and all sorts of gobbly goo.

I'm just freaking bummed out. I have tried to figure out how I/We(wife) could
make this event, but right now it just ain't happening. She has to work until
6.00pm that day, can't leave early, can't get that day off. Damn I'm just
out of luck on this one. I even thought that if I could be one of the first few
to start I could make most of the stops and still be able to pick her up, but after
standing all day at work and then dragging her around the rest of the city would
be unfare to her. Rats -- I guess I'll just have to meet everyone at the final stop
and be prepared -- I'll steal your poker hand and notes and win me some stuff!!

Don't feel too bad Ray, at least you'll be making it out for the festivities if not the run itself. I won't even be making that since my nephew picked that day out of all 365 in this year to get married. I think I'm about the only one in the family that likes him, so I really can't skip it, even if my wife would let me escape with my life.
