ok so..... i'm between a few options.....

an exedy racing stage 1 clutch kit.

an act street disc with act hd pressure plate

an act 4 puck solid disc with act hd pressure plate

an act 6 puck solid disc with act hd pressure plate

ok so..... will the 6 puck and 4 puck be too radical for the street? aka too much discomfort in regular driving?

my stock clutch started taking a sh*t on me after 5k miles. the stock pressure plate is weak as hell.....

i may go f/i i may not. either way i have intake , header , full exhaust , iridiums , and lightweight pulley. so it's like a 20% over stock increase.

the range ins price is between 280 and 325

this is for just the disc and pressureplate. i will furnish my own toyota throwout bearing.

my brother runs a 6 puck in his integra with a spoon flywheel. takes a little effort to drive it. Thats for sure. I dont think its too bad to drive though. I just wouldnt want to get stuck in 3 miles of traffic with it.

All you need is an ACT HD00 kit. ACT Heavy Duty pressure plate with their organic street disk. I ran this kit on my civic and it was perfect for daily driving.

This isnt a bad setup, but if you plan to beat teh crap out of it I wouldnt go that way. Ive known several people to go through ACTs like oil changes.

so guys....... street disc or 6 puck? i just read that the 4 puck will be WAY fierce. lol. i may f/i in the future. but no matter what my current mods went through the stock quite easily with my hard driving..... so..... what do you guys think?

and should i get the fidanza flywheel or get an oem one back cut? i know the back cut isnt as good but it's cheaper... and i've also heard that the lightweight flywheel coupled with the lightened crank pulley looses revs way too quick between shifts?

i drive my car hard but i also have to street it as it's my daily driver. and as of right now my only means of transportation...

thanx guys..

ok i just figured some stuff out...

since i'll be using the same press plate the clutch pedal will be just as hard no matter which clutch disc...

now my question is how much harsher will the 6 pucks engagement over the street disc be? i need to have this puppy last. i drive hard and do some traffic but not too much...

6 puck is gonna chatter on you like a mofo...I drove Munch's setup plenty of times and it is almost dam near inpossible to keep that thing from chattering unless you bring it up in the higher RPM's. It also grips real well up there in the 4000-6000RPM range. If you plan on ever going F/I I would definitely get at least the 4 puck. Basically, anything over stock is gonna be a tremendous upgrade.

what you want is a stret disc with a heavier duty pressure plate. street disc allows nice daily driving the stronger pressure plate is what you'll feel in the pedal and it has a stronger clamping force. this is what your after. look into a spec maybe i don't know i'm still deciding how i'm gonna go right now i'm thinking try a trd one for myself. as long as i'm under warranty.

I am saving for an Exedy Single Carbon clutch and flywheel combo.

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/Images/Products/Exedy/Clutch_Kits_Single_Carbon_Disc.jpg

Exedy Has developed the best carbon structure with high burst strength and torque transferring capabilities as a performance clutch. With the carbon, we tuned for Friction Coefficient to get smooth operating @ Cold Condition like street, and High Torque transfer @ hot condition such as Race Circuit. Our Hyper Carbon Clutch has superb easy operation, best inertia and extremely high torque capacity in this class of product.

Long Life Design:
Exedy Semi Carbon possesses a life span greater than 2.3 times the average of a Metal facing and 1.3 times longer life when compared to other carbon clutch manufacturers.

Advantages:
-Lightweight: Improved shift response.
-Strong heat resistance: No disengagement problems caused by disc deformation.
-Long Life: Low friction material wear rate.
-Easy Operation: Easy to use in the Half Engaged zone offering a comfortable operation either at the circuit or at the street.
