View Full Version : MUFFLER QUESTION arullier 04-07-2004, 02:05 AM WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHANGING MY MUFFLER VERSUS ADDING AN AXEL-BACK? I AM TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN THE TWO AS THERE IS A BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE (SO I ASSUME THERE IS A REAL BIG DIFFERENCE). I KNOW ALL OF THE AXEL BACK'S OUT THERE BUT IF I WANTED TO CHANGE THE MUFFLER FOR SOUND ONLY (ANY TYPE OF PERFORMANCE GAINS WOULD BE GREAT THOUGH) - WHAT MUFFLER WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPECIATED (SO SAYS MY CHECKING ACCOUNT)... Anyway, I dunno if just cutting and attaching a muffler will sound that much different to stock... I would just go for an axel back. Cutting off the muffler and just adding the muffler is a cool way to add a muffler. But you need to make sure that the muffler clears the ground and then you have to pay twice. Once for the muffler with tax, then again when you need it installed. An axle back muffler is already made and it can be installed by u in no time. Its basicly a price thing and a clearance thing. |
