ive stated it twice but the thrid times a charm ive hit 103 in an auto

I was able to hit 95 the other day..Wil test even more over the weeken.ging up to the Niagara Falls..a 6 1/2 will defenetly hit more than 95...I will let you guys know.... :D

Thus far, the fastest I have been is exactly 100mph. But I will be sure to break that record very soon...

I hit 120 going down the Altamont Pass on Sunday. I thought the caravan was in front of me... turns out they were behind me.

The Echo's governor would kick at 105, so they must've "sport-tuned" it for the xB. hehehe

my adive... invest in a radar like the passport 8500 or the valentine and if you have one and still have that many tickets DAMN you just really have some bad luck

tried 105 when i was on the way to vegas 8)

i noticed that i hit 115 or so everyday now..
usually 110-115.. but i have to TRY to hit 120 cuz the car is so damn slow..

the car is like dead after u hit 100.. only momentum and whatever put put is left takes it after that..

It isn't bad luck, it is the fact that there are so many cops laying around CA then anywhere else that love to target guys like us...so...I feel your pain mrlaypo...youre not the only one with speeding tix...altough I will admit 6 is alot...I only have 2 and I went to traffic school for them both...

111 on the highway down a slight hill the drag on the car is to much. The car was at 5600 rpm so im dont know how much more it could have went

I had it at well over 80 within the first 400 miles cause I made a road trip to Dallas from Austin my first weekend with it.

I'm two weeks into owning it and I have over 1500 miles on it so far. It's just too much fun driving to let it sit there.

I drive a auto xB with a trd exhuast on it. The car has been lowered 2 inches and in Atlanta going down I85 I've hit 120 in the car before i hit I285 east. The car was being pushed around in the wind that night so i don't recomend anyone doing it in a stock box that hasn't been lowered.

100 on the 5... good thing there were no CHPs during that time. :twisted: Was surprised that it actually got to 100 and I hadn't even floored it yet. :D

Luckily I live in Arizona where the speed limit is 75 mph, so I pretty much cruise at 85-90 on the way home every day. 8)

Fastest I've ever driven in a car I owned period: 125 mph in a chipped turbodiesel (TDI) Jetta. Yes, diesel. Was stable as a rock at that speed too. I did this on an open straight highway with no other cars around BTW. Safety always and think of others.

I took one out for a test drive a couple of months ago and got it up to like 105, auto trans.......

I hit 100 then started going up hill and was doing 95 when I hit the top of the hill... :?

Does going that fast for long periods wear out the engine? Or can the xB Cruise at 90mph all day? I have a 115 mile commute from Wichita Falls to Dallas every weekend. Can the engine handle being at such a high RPM for a couple hours?

Well I was heading back from virginia Tech last weekend, and around 11pm I said what the hell, slapped on the radar detector and went for it. as i went through the gears, I then began to skip off the rev limitor in 4th. somewhere around 113-115pmh I feel if i had gone another 1/2 mile i could of gotten her up 120 or so? (ohh and i had the wind to my back too :wink: )

Here's a tip on how to avoid speeding tickets (I don't let many know about this, so *shhhhh*...). QUIT SPEEDING!

If you don't appreciate the company of your local law enforcement officer - don't do anything to get his attention.

:lol: :lol: Its the computer. When in top gear the computer keeps track of your speed. When you hit a set speed, it will cut the engine power, like bouncing off the rev limiter. Thats at least what I think it is. It might also just be them nailing the rev limiter in 5th gear, that would also keep you from going faster.

So yeah......
I tried to get on it with my rims.....(Axis Spider 19" Chrome Rims) and my top end is like 92mph......
With the low pros in the rain my box has serious issues holding 70mph....It barely accelerated from 60 in the rain......poor guy.

110 in my 5 did it last night. I still had about another grand to go RPM wise. Hoping i could possibly get 120 if i tried. This was on flat ground, and it wasn't too bad of acceleration for an economy car.

i hit 150 tha other day and tha rev limiter kicked in. whats up? of course i was falling off a mountain. i was told by tha dealer that top end was at least 155. i dont get it! he he he.

So I timed my 0-100 the other day with my 19" rims.....
I'm still counting seconds becuase I only hit like 98mph.....

my car is on it's last legs at 80mph. i think cause it will put it alittle at or over it's torque band.

I couldn't read my speedo on the way home from socal but I think it was because the chips were in the way! :P

You know how cruise control is supposed to help increase gas mileage.....
I don't think that is the case with the xB.....
Has anyone noticed when we start on a slight incline and start to loose speed the xB has to shift down a couple of gears to keep it's speed.... :tap:

Got it to 120 a few times lately (now have 30k miles on it) And i just recently got it over 120, but only to like 122 or so. Thats DC Sports header, Injen Intake, ground wire kit. Hoping to get a custom header back exhaust with high flow cat made this summer, and maybe a cam-con... see if I can get it to 130-135. I'd be happy with that.

I've only had it up to 85 so far. 80 is pretty much the highway cruising speed here in NorCal. I'd be a little nervous taking it any faster, but reading as how you guys haven't really had any issues at over 100MPH, I'll give it a try once its fully broken in.

If traffic permits, I'm always in the 80-100 range with no problems from the Box.

I have had it up to 110 on a flat road stretch that lasted a good 3 miles. I think it could have done more but I wasn't going to push my luck, to many cows get out of the fence where I did it. No cops ever in that area and it is brand new black top. Yes, I said cows..................

i guess 121 is a reasonable speed for it to quit out at lol. not that bad.

The top speed on the xB is 105.

It is very comfortable at 70-90 area.

I would love to know how some are claiming 125 top speed. Really I would.

Had it to 110 on my way down into Rocky Point Mexico. Could have went faster. For those that have been there to Mexico, there is a 27 mile long straightaway that is good for testing top speed. Just fyi, I have an automatic. I did try to take a picture of the 110 but by the time I could focus on the speedo and snap a photo, I dropped to 100. Here's the pic anyways:

I turned OD off and ran mine to 100...then I calmed back down to 80. FYI on my auto, I had to turn OD off to be able to get past around 97-98 mph.
