jmiller20874 11-02-2005, 08:45 PM Looks good man  I like what you did with the Scion logo.
scionman1480 11-02-2005, 08:46 PM nice choice

yescadog 11-02-2005, 08:47 PM i like it.....
especially the logo on the caliper
scoobyroo2002 11-02-2005, 08:51 PM Very nice...did you make the stencil for the logo?
SNOOP97DAWG 11-02-2005, 08:55 PM I did make the stencil for the logo...
schwettynuts 11-02-2005, 08:57 PM When the pics were loading I was laughing when I saw 4 hours... Thenn.. I saw the logo...
ricexizxgood 11-02-2005, 09:10 PM nice
how many coats did you put on?
SNOOP97DAWG 11-02-2005, 09:12 PM 3 coats each
ricexizxgood 11-02-2005, 09:16 PM did you take off the calipers or just paint them while its on?
rhythmnsmoke 11-02-2005, 09:17 PM good job man, that looks good
Priory_of_Scion 11-02-2005, 09:20 PM What kind of paint is necessary?
Great job dude!
joolie 11-02-2005, 09:32 PM When the pics were loading I was laughing when I saw 4 hours... Thenn.. I saw the logo...
Thats what I was thinking...
But your calipers are awesome!!
SNOOP97DAWG 11-02-2005, 09:44 PM I left the calipers on the paint kit is 15$ at pepboys it comes with a brush and tape to cover the bleed lines and the screws if u want u can take the calipers off but that would just make more trouble
http://img173.imageshack.us/img173/1227/p10100291rz.jpg
SNOOP97DAWG 11-02-2005, 09:49 PM there is that kind of paint duplicolor or they also make a different brand that comes in spray paint but to whoever decides to paint make sure its high tempeture caliper paint some might think that regular spray paint is enough infact your brakes can catch on fire if u dont use hightempeture caliper paint....also after you are done you need to use clear coat thats made for engines so that when you wash your tires you cant clean the brakes just as good... :blah:
fm_tc_cruizer 11-03-2005, 12:25 AM hey, I have a flint mica . . . hey I just bought my Duplicolor Blue caliper paint set yesterday . . . hey thanx for givin' me a sneak preview!
Sal803 11-03-2005, 02:53 AM f'ing awesome!!!!!!!!!

Danimal 11-03-2005, 05:18 AM looks good, thanks for the preview
RFR79 11-03-2005, 05:51 AM  Looks Great  I have been wanting to do this for a while now but I just thought it would be a big hassle. Did you have to remove the caliper to paint them or did you leave them on the rotors?
SquashJV 11-03-2005, 06:09 AM Looks awesome love the logo what did you make it with and was the logo paint from the kit?
SNOOP97DAWG 11-03-2005, 06:31 AM i made a stencil of the logo and took it to a mall where they make high temp stickers had them make me 4 for the brakes and i left the calipers on
tekniq 11-03-2005, 06:33 AM I'm impressed! Good work!
StatuSCheckA 11-03-2005, 06:42 AM WAIT!! So the white part is basicly a sticker, not hating...but HOW do those stay on?!?
SNOOP97DAWG 11-03-2005, 06:56 AM because they are high temperature stickers with a coat of clear coat on them ....they are basically part of the caliper now....
Killermonkys 11-03-2005, 08:02 AM the scion logo looks awesome!!..very impressive
RFR79 11-03-2005, 09:28 AM Can you post a pic of the brand of clear coat you used? I just want to know for when I do mine this weekend
davedavetC 11-03-2005, 11:29 AM where did you get the stickers? or how did you make them?
Stu_Gotti 11-03-2005, 11:53 AM Nice job! :)
randomsuper 11-03-2005, 12:09 PM looks great. aren't you worried about them peeling or burning off? i know they're high temp stickers but it just seems like it'll fall off and ruin thw work you did painting the calipers.
i hope it works out for you. if it's all good a few days down the line, i'm stealing this idea.
Fsu1dolfan 11-03-2005, 12:48 PM Excellent Job Man
Clue us in on the clear coat stuff you used please!!!!
NYCtC 11-03-2005, 01:25 PM Looks grrrrrrrrrrrreat! (sense the Tony the Tiger there?) lol
thanks for the preview!
scottwood2 11-03-2005, 01:58 PM Looks great. What is the max temp the stickers rated for?
I have seen other paints that sell for $35 to $50 on line. Wonder what the diff is between these brands?
SalesUpscaleAuto 11-04-2005, 05:53 AM I may have missed it but did you spray them or hand-paint them or both?
SNOOP97DAWG 11-04-2005, 05:55 AM i hand painted them.....
SquashJV 11-04-2005, 06:29 AM they look awesome
RFR79 11-11-2005, 09:26 AM What type of clear coat did you use for the calipers?
mexicansciontc1 02-10-2006, 02:27 AM general FYI "engine enamel" can be used to paint calipers as well b/c they can withstand the high temperatures created by the friction of the drum at any speed. wow i just sounded really nerd. but anyways i love the idea of the logo  my calipers are white on my super white ... they seem to glow at night i  again good job.
if u wanna c them let me know.
RedLine_tC 02-10-2006, 02:56 AM nice choice
better than red
i was going to say the same thing..would look 10x better in red IMO
Reese 02-10-2006, 04:56 PM You did an awesome job
PinkStr 02-10-2006, 08:02 PM what colors do the paints come in? cuz i have white rims, and i want to paint mine pink
Neothin 02-10-2006, 08:51 PM what color would look decent on a NBM?
HOU-TEXTC 02-10-2006, 09:11 PM Gold or red.
mexicansciontc1 02-13-2006, 04:07 AM i dont have a catalog per say but they have a much bigger variety than caliper paint, autozone has them in the back just ask for it, they might just have pink as much as i cant picture in on a super white... do let me know how that goes..
I just did my clippers red from the same kit that he got.. I love the result.. of course I'm not as creative w/ the stickers like that but o well..lol I like them .. and yours too

jwaggz82 02-13-2006, 04:59 AM this sounds like a dumb question but ......can I do anything wrong when i paint the calipers? Meaning - can anything be done to mess up the actual performance of the break? Also - should you take the rims off when you paint them? That sounds like its the easier route but I have the stock rims so im not sure how hard it would be to paint.

No, it's just paint..you can't "mess up the performance" on your brakes with it..lol
and secondly, yeah, you'll have to take off the rims.. or else you'll be sittin there forever and just a careless swing and there's a big red mark across your rims..lol

I definitely wanna see a picture of yours ^
jwaggz82 02-13-2006, 10:22 PM sounds good - i thought you would want to take the rims off.
happyricefob 02-13-2006, 10:53 PM looks good
ohyaa69 02-16-2006, 05:05 AM nice calipers, they look hot
ShaolinSuckerPunch 02-17-2006, 03:12 PM I've been thinking about doing this for awhile, but seeing yours is convincing.
My question for everyone though...what about the Red tc's? The natural choice to paint my calipers would be red, but that just seems so typical and as everyone pointed out, red doesn't look all that hot really. Maybe black?
