I left the calipers on the paint kit is 15$ at pepboys it comes with a brush and tape to cover the bleed lines and the screws if u want u can take the calipers off but that would just make more trouble

there is that kind of paint duplicolor or they also make a different brand that comes in spray paint but to whoever decides to paint make sure its high tempeture caliper paint some might think that regular spray paint is enough infact your brakes can catch on fire if u dont use hightempeture caliper paint....also after you are done you need to use clear coat thats made for engines so that when you wash your tires you cant clean the brakes just as good... :blah:

 Looks Great  I have been wanting to do this for a while now but I just thought it would be a big hassle. Did you have to remove the caliper to paint them or did you leave them on the rotors?

WAIT!! So the white part is basicly a sticker, not hating...but HOW do those stay on?!?

SNOOP97DAWG
11-03-2005, 06:56 AM
because they are high temperature stickers with a coat of clear coat on them ....they are basically part of the caliper now....

looks great. aren't you worried about them peeling or burning off? i know they're high temp stickers but it just seems like it'll fall off and ruin thw work you did painting the calipers.

i hope it works out for you. if it's all good a few days down the line, i'm stealing this idea.

Looks great. What is the max temp the stickers rated for?

I have seen other paints that sell for $35 to $50 on line. Wonder what the diff is between these brands?

What type of clear coat did you use for the calipers?

mexicansciontc1
02-10-2006, 02:27 AM
general FYI "engine enamel" can be used to paint calipers as well b/c they can withstand the high temperatures created by the friction of the drum at any speed. wow i just sounded really nerd. but anyways i love the idea of the logo  my calipers are white on my super white ... they seem to glow at night i  again good job.

if u wanna c them let me know.

HOU-TEXTC

Gold or red.

i dont have a catalog per say but they have a much bigger variety than caliper paint, autozone has them in the back just ask for it, they might just have pink as much as i cant picture in on a super white... do let me know how that goes..

this sounds like a dumb question but ......can I do anything wrong when i paint the calipers? Meaning - can anything be done to mess up the actual performance of the break? Also - should you take the rims off when you paint them? That sounds like its the easier route but I have the stock rims so im not sure how hard it would be to paint.

No, it's just paint..you can't "mess up the performance" on your brakes with it..lol

and secondly, yeah, you'll have to take off the rims.. or else you'll be sittin there forever and just a careless swing and there's a big red mark across your rims..lol

nice calipers, they look hot

I've been thinking about doing this for awhile, but seeing yours is convincing.

My question for everyone though...what about the Red tc's? The natural choice to paint my calipers would be red, but that just seems so typical and as everyone pointed out, red doesn't look all that hot really. Maybe black?
