Default Can someone help me with my new XB! Clueless here!

I have a base model in Thundercloud and I love it but I need help customizing it. Right now all I have are neon lights on the brake pads and cupholders (that was for my kids!) and aluminum car mats. What do I need on the doors to protect them from scratches and open doors? What else do I need? Or want. This is my divorce car and I would love to have fun with it but first I need to know what I really need to be adding to it first. THANK YOU

Arm rest is nice for longer trips along with cruise control.

If you are looking for a little power upgrade I would go with a cold air intake. There is a guy selling some at a great price on scionlife.com

Hmmm...I can't think of anything to protect the doors. At least not anything that you would actually want on your car. Since you have kids, the one product that I would HIGHLY recommend is the rear cargo liner. I'm not talking about the cargo cover or the cargo mat. I'm talking about a heavy canvas type liner that protects the entire rear area including the backs of the rear seats. The color blends in perfectly and it is worth it's weight in gold if you haul anything. I also recommend the rear bumper applique or similar item to protect the top of the rear bumper. If you have stuff back there and the load shifts a little, as soon as you open the rear door, stuff can easily fall out and damage the bumper. I speak from experience.

I am not sure what those door protectors are called but I am sure you could pick up some universal ones at your local auto parts store.

As far as what else you need.... The possibilities are endless and it is entirely up to you what you decide on. I would suggest going to ebay and doing a search for scion xB and you will have pages upon pages of things you can get. If you have any questions about anything on that site just come back here and ask about it. Someone will be happy to help all the time.

It's a joy modding these things, take your time and don't buy things just to mod.
I generally go through 2-3 sets of rims/tires before I find ones 'just right'...
Check out what allot of us have done and judge for yourself...
The whole idea is to make it 'your'xB....
You'll luv it! I luv mines.

regarding door guards check this thread, be careful ordering as they come in SETS OF 2!!

I made the mistake, like someone else...of ordering 4 lol so I got 8 of them..just order 2 pairs.

They look nice and somewhat protect your doors

"A Divorce Car"?? It's probably a good thing you got it after the fact or else you'd be without.

Don't forget to get an air filter in your dash lots of info in the manual and here on how to do it and even how to make one yourself and save bucks. (It really works too. I never realized how much stuff floats areound through the car until I took it out to check it.)

Welcome, congrats and enjoy.

So far, the short ram, bumper cover, arm rest and mat are the best suggestions.... but get the cruise first!

Then I'd look into the door sill plates. They look sharp.
And for a cheapie mod, get a grounding kit.
