Can the seat be adjusted back in the XB? I'm just a little to close to the wheel...Is there a mod for it?

Umm how tall are you?

I'm 183cm *(6' 0") and the xB feels pretty cavernous to me.

My preferences are: Lateral seat distance is all the way back, Seat backrest is one notch back from fully upright, Steering wheel column is set to hightest elevation.

Pretty comfortable for city & hwy driving.

You might have to do some cutting and welding... :nails:

I have a 36" inseam and fit. However, to get my arms at a comfortable distance, the seat is little closer than I like for my legs . The proportion for arm reach and leg reach seems a tad off.

Ah, I think I know what it is. The xB seating is more like a van's than a car's. I don't know what you can do about that. If your arms are close enough ,your legs will be cramped and if your legs are far enough back, the reach will be too much for your arms.

i'm 6'6" with a size 18 shoe, my only gripe is my knee always hits the silver piece that goes around the stereo. If there is an easy way to scoot the seat back a little I would def. be interested

Here's the problem with moving the seat. It completely negates all of the car's safety features. The seat belts and airbags are designed to work with the seat in any of its factory positions. When you alter that by moving the seat, the calculations get thrown off and it's bad physics for everyone.

So, while moving the seat is a possibility, I REALLY don't recommend it.

BTW, I'm 6'3" with a 34" inseam and size 14-15 shoes (damn Nikes run small ever time!). I bought the xB because it was the only thing that fit me well.

hmm.. maybe the xB or all scion models should include a telescoping steering wheel.... that may be whats needed rather than more room to move the seat back

i'm 6'5'', with a size 13 converse, and i feel fine in it.

only problem I have is the height of the seat...the headrest is up way higher than I'm used to, even all the way down. ah well.

You could always try the front spacer mod to bring the front of the seat up about a half an inch or so. Moving it back would include spacers and longer bolts for the rear mounts and a small extension to relocate the front mounting hole. Bolt a short piece to currant hole and bolt down extension with original bolt in front. Only problem is reaching the steering wheel then. I wonder if the column can be brought backwards any? I'll have to look at that.

I'm 6'4" as well and I seem to be ok with the room, but I do wish there was a
little more ajustabilty with the drivers seat. But all in all it's ok for an economy car.

you can get a knee rest from zeta. there is a similar item for Mini's as well, since many of them suffer the same problem.

As far as leg room, I think so. I've tested the xA before gettin the xb. The leg room seems the same but my head was about 1" away from the headlinner. In the xB, I've got about 3" of headroom from the linner.

I would pay money for a mod to get me about 2 or 3 inches more of leg room in my xB. I could travel to chicago or detriot for the modification if needed.

Hes 100% Correct modify the Seat even if you install racing seats will void the saftey specs. And risk problems with your insurance carrier. Im 6 2 with size 13 shoe I know your pain best thing to do is prop your back as high as you can on the back seat or tilt the bucket back some.

Only other option is to talk to a dealer and see if they have recommended Racing seats that they will install. The Install part is important to be done by the dealer so your saftey is not put at risk. The dealer will only install somthig that is ok for the box.

You could always try what I did. I put longer front bolts and some spacers under the front mounts. It tilts the front of the seat up a bit. Just enough to give you some support under the lower thigh. Puts the seat in a sweet spot.

I was going to try and loosen all the bolts and see if there is any rearward travel in the column. Maybe oblong the bolt holes to gain a little movement.

I think the problem that many of you have is that you have a tendency to sit in it like a car and thats not what its setup for. As someone already said, its like a van's seating position.

I am amazed at all of the small folks that drive these things. I am 7'3" and wear a 22 shoe. I only weigh 475 pounds in case you wondered.

I own and Xb and I am 6'3" and find that it has enough leg room, I just have the seat back all the way and recline the top a little ...... I know it lacks the streatching room ....... But have no complaints ....

damn it....so I am still the tallest person on here driving an xB? ugh....

yeah, 6'2", 38 inseam, size 12 shoe. xB is by far the most comfortable vehicle I've been in.

FWIW, I'm 6'7 280lbs, 36.5 inch inseam and a size 17EEE shoe and I fit fine. There's not a surplus of room left over, but no part of my body touches anything I don't want it to.

That said, my dad is 6'4 and 330 ish? Big guy, with a size 14 shoe and he doesn't fit. He can sit in the driver seat, doesn't nearly FIT. Same with the passenger side front seat, his knees are in the dashboard.

Both with the seats back all the way.

Weight is an issue, also.

im 6'1", dont know my inseem, size 14 shoe, and i still need a little more room, sucks when i drive for a while but its because i have legs of a person who is like 6'3", i would love a kit to make a telescoping steering wheel, but i tried the xA, was my first choice, but i did not fit well at all couldnt turn the steering wheel very well, knee was right under it

what I wish I could do with my seat.... is lower it an inch or two...... as if i were to cut off some of the metal bracket and lower it to the floor of the car.... I feel like i sit too high in the box.... and I'm 6'1

I am 6' 4" and where a 16-17 size shoe, I have my seat slightly angled back for comfort , and I just need the steering wheel about 2 inchs closer, I feel I have to round my shoulders a bit to reach the steering wheel, but besides that I fit fine, even with my boat size shoes, unlike in the TC my mom has, the Brake and gas pedal are so freakin close together in that car, I find myself stepping on both sometimes. and no matter how far back or how angled I get the seat, my head still hits.

i sold an xB to a 6'5" Samoan, he was HUGE and he fit just fine. it was cool b/c his wife was like 4'11", they were awesome looking together.

I think that those of us in the 6'-2" to 6'-4" range are accustomed to vehicles that actually fit...

People who are much bigger have maybe never had that happen, so they don't know the difference... not being completely cramped is defined as comfortable...

I don't notice any issues until I've been driving for 30 miles or so, and the seat seems to be getting better- maybe it's the Homer Simpson butt-groove in the couch phenomenon at work...

my best friend is 6'9'' 328lbs.looks like he has a big foot too.he drove my box just for about 350 miles.he said he felt it a bit small but not bad.he actually liked it.oh and it made my box look looooooow.

OOk so after reading all of these past posts here...it looks like no matter what your heigh/size is some of you fit easily while others have a problem. It apears it doesn't always matter how tall you are as you may fit better than someone shorter. Am I missing something here? I've only sit in an Xb once and I didn't seem to fit very well...I think I'll have to go back monday and take a closer look at it...the dealer didn't seem to want to sell that car as he pushed me to a Toyota Camry instead...hmmm (Sorry...but I'm only interested in the Xb...and I'm willing to do just about anything so I can fit in it..comfortably.)
