View Full Version : What's the best brand for a Short Ram Air Intake?
Waitech 11-03-2005, 09:13 PM I just got my 06 XA with 5pd. I planning on a step by step mod with my car.
I am looking for a good performance "Short Ram Air Intake".
Some pple mention AEM & Injen but only for XB and TC in this forum.
Can someone pls give me some input on what's the best SRAI for an XA
and what link I can go to and purchase it.
Thanks alot!!!
injen
if you get the cold air intake set-up you also get the sri (in one package) the cai is just some more piping on the sri, and injen doesn't sell the extra tubing to convert to cai if you already have the sri wtf :(
neotim 11-03-2005, 10:29 PM Has anyone tried the Injen or other systems to see if they fit on the '06 xA? According to their website, the Injen fits only 03-04.
i'm 99% sure it will, well the sri should not sure about the cai though
Waitech 11-04-2005, 06:11 PM So does anyone know where there's a good site I can get the SRI for my XA?

scottwood2 11-07-2005, 06:59 PM Has anyone compared side by side the differance between the big name brands and some of the lesser known brands that look the same? You can save some big $$ if you don't mind missing the big name brand name stamped on it.
they don't make cheap off brands of cai and sri for the xA were just that lucky to get best brands money can buy :P

Careful on the off brands. I stopped by a local shop that happens to sell CAI's for the Xa and XB. They're using exhuast tubing and an epileptic welder. I could accually see sunlight through the MAF sensor mount. I'll probably be making one myself. I don't see how or why people pay $250 for about $15 of aluminum tubing, $15 in silcon clamps and a $35 filter. I've looked at the Injen short ram and laughed. Mybe I'm the only one to notice the 'Cold Air Intake' that places the filter right on top of the header... I believe the short ram is over $150 for a $35 filter and 2 maybe 3 pieces of tubing I can get for $6 each. If it wasn't for that stupid Maf and my welder I can't find... A while back there was a pretty decent kit for $65 shipped but sadly it only fit the XB so again nothing but the bets for our cars.
