dear scion, now that toyota has discontinued the mr2 spyder i think that scion should come out with a 2 seater convertable with high performance but thats just me

I would also like to see another Toyota convertible now that the Solara is the only one left. But, I don't think it will be a Scion because of the price. Oh well....here's to hoping.

Well, there is a Lexus convertible... and a Toyota convertible... neither are really sports cars. I think a small 2-seat convertible would slot into the Scion brand nicely... but follow the Miata's direction and keep it a true roadster with real potential.

The MR2 Spyder was great in theory... mid-engine 2-seat sportster... but then it was harnessed with the Celica GT engine (instead of the GTS engine you can even get in the Corolla!) and you had lackluster sales.

Why couldn't Toyota build a Miata/Mini mix with the best parts of each... for under $20,000? Now THAT would be interesting!

An improved Sequential Manual Transmission (SMT) or even a true Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) would be good options, IMHO. Don't know if the DSG would be too costly.

I think a convertable xb would be pretty awesome.
Especially if it was a convertable similar to the Chevy SSR (self contained/retractable) hardtop.

It may be impossible, but hey... I can dream.

i also saw a pick of the convertible xb it was black. I thought it looked alright. I'd only sport one if I lived some where that was warm all the time though

wasn't there a thread a while back where they mentioned that a convertible could be in the scion line-up?

nope. not at all practical. you buy that to have a toy, not to have a car.

i would like the convertable if they had chopped the windsheild and laid it back a few more degrees, giving a "true" roadster look to it.....

well you know if not a convertable itd be nice just to have something with great performance. i mean ever since the supra was discontinued toyota was left with wimpy 4 bangers like the celica gt i mean sure itll stand up to a mits. eclips or mabe a sentra,(its like they are trying to appeal to an older generation now that the celica is gone thank god for the tc though) but come on nissan has the 350z and is returning to the high performance world with the skyline gtr. suburu has the sti, mitsu. the evo, mazda the rx8, even honda has the acura nsx to fall back on...and since i dont think the tc will ever have a v6 turbocharged option available i think maybe scion will introduce something that will give its name the respect that the supra brought to toyota.

ok so mabe u just dont understand the concept.... Scion- a division of toyota motor corps. founded to gain intrest from a younger generation because of the discontinuation of the celica and the mr2

convertable- an automobile that is able to remove or relocate its roof in order for the occupants to enjoy the experience of their suroundings without the restriction of a roof.

think about it a convertable is a sporty car usually scion is trying to appeal to that.
