which is the best short shifter available for the US market?

I'm leaning towards a TWM short shifter. The TRD is said to be a minimal upgrade. Randode is coming out with a short shifter, but I don't know about it having a shorter throw...

I resenly drove a Xb with the TRD short shifter. I liked it so much that im selling my Hot Lava number 4 to get 5 Speed Hot Lava with the TRD short shifter. It was really nice it also had the TRD all leather shif Know and it felt really good.

I got a chance to check out the TWM and by far it's the best !Check out the "group buys" forum.

I have a Twm in my echo and the quality of the piece is top notch. the throw is indeed shorter and the action is more crisp. I would reccomend this piece.

i have a trd shifter, and it's nice. sometimes i forget it's a short throw shifter though. i wouldn't mind trying the randode one or that other one that is out. i'm sure someone would want to buy my trd shifter, which is actually a really nice piece. the throw is just not that short. that seems to be how a lot of TRD products are, now aggressive enough.

im going with the trd short shifter...if twm didnt lower it 3inches it would have been great...but lowering the height 3 inches ruined it....
randode whats your short shifter gonna be like? stock height with reduced throw?

Is there a shorter throw on the Randode Pro-Shifter? We need pics, damn it! Pics with the stock and pro-shifter side by side!

the randode pro-shifter is a shorter throw than both the trd and twm. I can make the shifter handle length whatever you want. Mine is currently 3" shorter than stock, but i think its too much. My next one is going to be just 1.5" shorter.

Dam randode, I was going to say that the TWM shifter was the best but now you hav comprimised my decision. I never knew you were making shifters.

dayam! 3" is gonna make u have to REACH for the shifter..

i want shorter THROW not height..

imma have to ask around to see who has a randode one so i can compare..
jdmxb has the trd one and i compared his to mine like mins within each other and noticed a big big big big difference.

yeah its pretty stupid that they chopped it 3" . maybe the guy that designed it drops alot of stuff on the floor or something.... i got the trd and its fine by me better than stock but not so ricer that you have a hard time finding gears or missing them

Randode.. does this clean up the shift too or just shorten it? The cheap feel of the shifts is the biggest reason I might not get a second xB.. not only because I don't like it but because my WIFE hates it, but she hates how I spend so much money on the scion even more.

I need a testomonial... what you got? :)

I would have to buy, install, then ship back my stocker.

the throw is the same as subcodes TWM shifter, but the handle is only 1.5" shorter than stock, not 3" like the TWM. I have found the 3" shorter handle to be a little too short.

Silkywilson, i am currently looking for more "cores" so i can ship them out of state. I'll keep you posted.

I just thought it was worth pointing out that the height of our shifter has been tested and retested by individuals of every body type. We found that reducing height by 3" resulted in a much more sporty feel without compromising comfort.

i just installed the TWM short shifter today. i was worried that the fact that it is physically 3" shorter than the stock one, it may cause me to lean when i shift. But, i was wrong, it more than compensates for the loss in height by the shortened shift. it also has a tighter shift. it feels much more responsive and i would recommend it to everyone. The car i originally test drove at the dealer had the TRD kit and it was not much different from the OEM shifter.

Yeah, I'm gonna opt for the TWM shifter (liked the quality of the Celica version). Probably opt for a TWM shift knob as well...

yea i kinda like the TWM shift knob too, but it has a lot of similarities to the Greddy knob. and the Greddy knob is about half the price. one thing though...im sure either know isnt nice to shift with after your car has been sitting in the sun for a couple hours..

Yes I have to chime in and I have to say the shifter is short, the shifts are shorter and it feels right.... the trd is not as short and doesn't have that notchiness, but I like the notchiness, feels better to me IMHO....

thanks goes to Karel, albeit a co-sponsor, who gave me the opportunity to experience this wonderful shifter, and for the lucky guys who either have driven"vidal, jason(chesire cat), gabe(stylis) my car and the guys who seen it... this shifter just feels tough. and that's a good thing :D

Randode's Shifter Kicks ___...I have had it for a good two months now, and it is by far my favorite thing that I have done to my box...great quality too...only problem is that Randy is quitting his job, and I don't know how much longer he will be able to make them.... :(
