I am looking at getting a set of 17" ADR Spades and they have a machined lip,

Do these lips get easily ruined? I will be putting 215/40/17 tires on them.

I realize that if you hit a pot hole hard enough any wheel will get trashed, but as long as I am careful????

Trouble is, it seems like all the wheels I want have the damn lip! I am sure it looks good though...

I've had wheels with 3" lips before, nothing to worry about, just take it easy over speedbumps, curbs, potholes, etc.
