I have a printing business and although I have not actually done it as of yet I've calculated that I can fit up to 18 cases of paper in the back with the seats down. I've picked up or delivered 6-8 cases on a regular basis and its great because you have a farily low deck compared to most SUVs of comparable size or bigger and with the gate open I can stand upright, I'm 5'11", underneath without banging my head on anything. While I can fit 18 cases of paper I doubt it would be a good idea since each case weighs about between 40 to 50 pounds you are looking at 800 to 900 pounds sitting back there. If I'm not mistake the payload capacity is about 900 pounds for these things. As a business vehicle for my kind of business it can't be beat with the carrying capacity able to handle just about all jobs in one trip and the gas mileage it has. Plus the flat sides make an excellent billboard for advertising and the box itself draws attention.

I worked for a school photography company and when I would have to deliver 9ft. sets to the photographers along with 5 cameras (Micro-z), the box was all it took. I could even fit a passenger as well! Now, I mainly use it to haul all of my surf gear that won't fit on the racks. Inside, I can hold a 6ft shortboard, a 7'4" stinger, two washtubs, two boogieboards, and I've still got room for that TV! (jk)

Ok, my mom mobile carries a full load from Sam's club. Toilet paper, paper towles, chips, meats, etc., not to mention the regular grocery shopping on a weekly basis. Once a week I load up two full size cellos in hard cases to take my daughter to meet her dad for community orchestra. He doesn't take his to work because you shouldn't leave and instrument like that to the temperatures that occur in a locked up car so he meets us after work. It looks like I have 2 coffins in the back On Saturdays I carry two English riding saddles and gear with my two daughters to horseback riding lessons. Then I come home load up one cello and take my other daughter to her cello lesson. I guess that's about it.

The guys at Costco laughed when I pulled up, but after I popped the hatch, dropped the seats and it slid in fine, IN THE BOX, as well as my other shopping, they stopped laughing and were impressed by the interior size. And that was from guys that load a lot of big things into a variety of cars...

I'll only use the Grand Caravan if the load is too long or too dirty or rough.

It'll even sleep two comfortably, as long as your not freakishly tall. No offense to the freakishly tall...

that is awesome lol!!!

i was at a friends house today and he kept commenting "geez this thing has a lot of room" over and over...he sat in the front....sat in the back...lol

they look small but inside they are huge, the "box" style is what does it....not as much wasted space

the tv with groceries pic in the back is priceless!!!

I think that Toyota has stumbled on an alien technology that allows the interior space of a static object to exceed total volume defined by the the exterior dimensions. I think it's a time/space thing.

It's in the concept process, IMO. They said "Let's make a passenger space and then build a car shell around it" instead of the usual "Let's make a sleek looking car and then figure out how to wedge some people into it"
