So what setting do you have your stock stereo on?

Thanks to Randode who educated me that we have the option to change model types for our head unit to suit the different models and dramatically change the sound...

any reasoning behind it?

xA Feel, nobody at the dealer told me about this little goodie, so for about a month I rode around with the stereo sounding like crap.... :tap:

Umm, the factory radio did not last very long in my ride. So I did not get a chance to play with the features. :P

i always had it on tc hear, but after you mentioned it to me at this weekends meet i messed around with it and i really like xB hear cuz its louder. i just worry if it is thinking its an xB now it could damage my tC speakers by changing the crossovers for the tweeters or something. I do like the xB hear though.

xA Feel all the way.........

I don't know why but the tC setting in all three cars sounds HORRIBLE!

Who knows.......

It wont damage anything...

All of the tC settings sounded muddy...even in a tC.

Its just an eq with presets based on the size of the interior of the different cars. Dont know why the tC is so bad though. Just crappy presets I guess.

I just use the LOUD setting. :P

Have fun with the settings and get it to "your" sound.

Hold in your SSP button until it registers, then use volume to change the settings.

The radio that was in my xb I had set to 'xa' and swapping between 'hear' and 'feel' depending on the bass in the song.

i think it depends on the car you are in too. i used to use xb feel cause there was more bass but then i switched to xa feel because there was still enough bass and the highs were higher and clearer. and yes the tc settings are crap. they are just not loud enough or something.

now that I learned how to do this. I put it on xA feel. I like to feel my music. I listen to mostly alternative and rock so this seems to sound the best to me. xB and xA seemed really close, but liked the xA a lil' better.

Totally ignoring the setting in the display, but changing from one to another while in several different musical styles (classic orchestral, jazz piano, rock) each time I ended up on xB Feel, so that's where it lives in my xB.

Sarcasm, I always get asked why I have not put one in yet, the stereo goes but just not yet.

I just set mine today on XA feel. the whole stereo system sucks in the TC. I just decided to pull apart the car yesterday to put in a high low converter and an amp kit. The back speakers in the TC are just paper pieces of crap. Put in some rockford 51/4 speakers and wow what a difference. Can anybody tell me what the fronts are in the TC. Just so i dont have to go look it up, or take of the door pannel. They have got to go also.

Mine factory radio didnt make it a week. I picked the car up on thursday and finished the install on the stereo on Sunday. So I can't give a honest answer on this.

xA feel in my tC.

Wish I could get those Memphis Audio speakers installed that I won in that raffle.

I run in flat (neutral) mode and let the Memphis equipment do the heavy lifting.

So I'm rolling to work this morning, got Jack Johnson on the stereo, and I'm playing with the sound adjustments. I discovered that there is a big difference between the Neutral modes for xA, xB and tC as well. I guess the default mode for the radio is tC mode and that's what mode my system has been in for I don't know how long (resets whenever you disconect the battery I guess). Switched it to xB mode and... Woah!!! My Memphis subs came alive! It was like going to feel mode on regular speakers.

I think I fell in love with my sound system all over again! It was truly a hair moving experience!

I knew I liked you for a reason. Jack Johnson ROCKS! I got to see him this summer in Washington at a the best concert venue - the Gorge in George, WA right on the banks of the Columbia River. It was amazing (Chad, back me up, I know you have been there!)

What album?

Album: On And On.

I first heard him at a restaurant Marilyn and I were at on a beach in Ventura. Fitting.

You probably like Marc Cohn too.
