WOW! I just found this on Pioneer's website. With this, you can get a D1 for under $1000. The problem is finding an "authorized dealer" that isn't ripping you off (*cough* $1,600 at Circuit City).

well i had not seen it so thanks........but where in the world would one buy it for under a thousand ?

 

That was my mistake, because all the sites I had seen the unit on were pricing it at about $1100. If you buy it from the "authorized sellers" though, it's $1500 or more. And Crutchfield's price already includes the rebate (which is what threw me off on the sub-$1000 thing).

The funny thing is it seems to be cheaper to buy it from any ole online store than to buy it from Crutchfield/BestBuy/CircuitCity w/ rebate.

If only I hadn't spent all my money on the car........ =[
