I was riding to work this morning...the car felt amazing! Just very solid and I might say "cushy"..the ride was just quiet and forgiving...yet firm. The steering felt so accurate and solid. Yet some days, the car feels loose and harsh...is it the weather?
I sometimes get the feeling that all the rubber parts, bushings, seals, whatever...shrink down and cause that loose feeling and other times, they swell up
and make the car perfect.

Yup I love my car in the mornings! After the whole thing warms up it seems to lose some of its capabilities.

I'm not sure if there's a scientific basis for it... but I do know heatsoak is directly responsible for the loss of acceleration after a period of time.
Wrap your intake with fairly inexpensive insulation. I got some at lowe's for 7 bucks, and wrapped the whole thing with a couple layers. Looks like poo, but the intake piping stays cool to the touch even after a 40-second full throttle run on a local track course.
If you wrap a CAI, even better.

well, components stiffen up when it's cooler out, and generally, throughout the day, it gets warmer out, so they loosen up. just like power wires and stuff..they kinda sag during the summer and are tight during the winter(if you live where there is a decent temperature variation).

I'm just wondering if urethane bushings would improve this or not.

It sounds like you might need some mods like a Rear Sway bar and a Front Strut Tower Bar.

i kinda has to do with running rich from startup and colder air in the morning. mine runs great in the morning...so so at midday with heat...and awesome at night.
my corolla did the same thing. it was crazy too, i had a 97 corolla, an automatic. sometimes with a sudden change of cold air, i could chirp the tires.

I wasn't talking about the engine so much as the ride itself. However, there are times when the car feels like it has 30 more horsepower....few however.
