scionlife 11-12-2005, 12:47 AM http://www.scionlife.com/features/f_060101/picScionLife.jpg
Hey guys, it's time again for our Toy Drive! The competing sites are already in gear on their end of the contest, and I think that this year we can bring in the highest per-person donations!
The contest began Monday Nov 28th and will end on Friday Dec 16th. That is three weeks, shorter than previous years! That means we are really going to have to buckle down! Donations via PayPal can be made on the front page of ScionLife.

SirScion 11-27-2005, 02:41 PM so JADA toy cars do not count? they cost MORE than Hotwheels, and Are better made. What about LARGE hotwheels cars, and Jada cars? OH, is the Scion of Houston Toydrive part of this?
scionlife 11-28-2005, 07:20 PM JADA toys do not count toward the contest points... the rules are designed to allow for the various websites to have a standard method of counting points, otherwise it would get too confusing. The Jada toys DO count towards a childs happiness, though! I have not heard about the Houston Toydrive, so not sure about that. You should have the admin of that contest contact me.
scionlife 11-29-2005, 06:31 AM Game on, people! Let's get cracking....
2003: 966
2004: 1733
I am going to make a goal of 2500 points this year! In eighteen days that means we need to average 139 points per day! So far we are only at 20 points today.. can we rally another 119 points before midnight?
bubblemyster 11-29-2005, 07:19 AM look at that xB owners. Are you going to let element owners show you up like that?
scionlife 11-29-2005, 07:28 AM By the way, just like last year I am going to be paying the PayPal fees out of my own pocket for this event... if you donate $5.00 then it will mean five points. I will pay the stupid $0.25 fee or whatever. :)
jeffguynyc 11-29-2005, 01:15 PM Hey guys, just made a donation, we should be in second place now. Cmon people lets reach our goal for this year.
Nemesis_xD 11-29-2005, 04:08 PM $30 donated! What place are we in now???
scionlife 11-29-2005, 07:10 PM OK, we are in second place now... the guys at the Element Owners Club started things off with a $500 donation! They are SERIOUS this year!
If anyone wants to donate about $150 then here are two auctions on eBay for 216 Matchbox Cars each. I will give a day if anyone wants to by them and have them shipped here... or I will get them myself. :)

ohcanada_00 11-30-2005, 05:16 AM oh man, the Elements cant beat us.........
Nemesis_xD 11-30-2005, 05:21 AM NEVER!
scionlife 11-30-2005, 05:39 AM Never?
NEVER!?!
In 2003 the STOMPED our heads in with 3044 cars to our 966! Last year we managed to edge them out, but they have pledged that this year they will make a show of force and kick our butts! We gonna let this happen? Let'ws go people! You can donate $1 and it will help! If the next 30 people that read this donated $12 (the price of four coffees!) then we would be tied with them!
robertdawg014 11-30-2005, 07:53 AM 12 Dollars?!?!? thats... uhhh four coffees!... Elements Leading?!?!? WTF... for the kicking of the butts of the wanna be xBs!
Nemesis_xD 11-30-2005, 03:11 PM I'll get ya, Darren. Gimme a couple of days.

scionlife 11-30-2005, 04:35 PM Oh-oh... the Element owners rounded up another 500 for an even grand! We are getting smeared on this one! We rallied another 17 points last night. :)

scionlife 11-30-2005, 06:10 PM Well, that is basically the way that it IS already working. If those auctions are still there by tonight I am going to buy both of them and use the money that has been donated to pay for them.
I wanted to give someone the chance to take full credit for the auctions, first. :)

Default EOC Toy Drive 2005
Well folks, it's only July, but it's once again the time of year when retailers start bulking up for the holidays. Please keep in mind that we need to blow the other owners clubs out of the water this year and help a great group of needy kids with this years Toy Drive.
If you are not familiar with the annual EOC Toy Drive, take a look at the following links:
http://www.elementownersclub.com/for...ad.php?t=11246
http://www.scionlife.com/xmas/2003/
We will be collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars and monies to purchase toys. It's a great way for us to contribute to the future and create an interest in automobiles.
[UPDATE]

scionlife 12-01-2005, 06:07 AM Let's just focus on bringing ScionLife in the number one position! If we can get ten people to donate $25 tonight then we can take the #1 position BACK! Let's do it!
scionlife 12-01-2005, 06:19 AM (I hear crickets)
ohcanada_00 12-01-2005, 07:13 AM chirp chirp...i gave my 25

DONATE TO THE SCION LIFE TOY DRIVE!
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=92636
:) Anything to help out needy children. I've got 3 of my own! (Not the needy part-the children part!) :)
scionlife 12-01-2005, 05:55 PM OK guys, I talked to the Element Owners... they didn't realize they couldn't start collecting before the start date. They suggested that they just subtract all points earned before Nov 28th, and only count points generated after. It sounds like a good solution to me, and we will still make sure everyone knows they have collected a LOT of toys... remember, the REAL point of this competition is to bring in more toys... and they have done that! It's all for the kids!
kkawana 12-01-2005, 06:34 PM hey..... us in the PNW are tryin to rally our troops to flat out beat last years total from SL with just our region donations alone....
for those who paypal you.. if they put something in the comment feild saying "from/for the PNW region" or somthin like that.. could ya make a notation somewhere?? we have a sticky in the PNW forum board that we'll be keepin tabs with if at all possible..... just a thought/request....
Da_Mac 12-01-2005, 07:35 PM Darren can we send in toys to you as well as making a donation?? I have lots of hotwheels and matchbox cars lying around my house from when I used to collect them instead of letting them collect dust could I box them all up and send them to you??
kkawana 12-01-2005, 07:52 PM Da_Mac
I think as long as they are still in their packages.. yes u can... not sure if opend cars count tho
BigLew 12-01-2005, 07:55 PM guys lets do this because i checked on the element owners club site and they just ordered 9 cases of hot wheels off ebay and their total is around 3000 points! we can do this scionlife. I am donating soon. Lets help out kids and also win this thing for scionlife!
scionlife 12-01-2005, 07:56 PM Yes, PLEASE send them in to us! They have to be in new condition and unopened. If everyone on the site sent us one car then we would CREAM the competition!
Da_Mac 12-01-2005, 08:22 PM They are still in their originial packaging and still in great condition like i said I was collecting them....
OK I am going to count them and box them up tonight and I will post the total up here.. Thanks
scionlife 12-01-2005, 09:38 PM LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, please give a big round of applause to Mike Davis, the Scion Manager of the Portland Region, for adding 350 points to our total, BRINGING US INTO FIRST PLACE! Those points are straight from the Portland Region office, thanks to all of you!
scionlife 12-01-2005, 09:43 PM I also wanted to let you guys know that two years ago we had a grand total of 966 after two months of the contest... we have already beat that by the third DAY!
Last year we had 1733. I would love to leave that number in our dust!

Scion05BOPxB 12-01-2005, 09:50 PM ROCK ON! I, like Da_Mac use to collect Hot Wheels, so I might be able to go over to the storage unit and dig out some I can send in as well as a cash donation when I get paid. Trying to rally my local group to chip in a donation as well as my car club.
BlueOnyxxB 12-01-2005, 10:19 PM  congrats first place now :)
kkawana 12-01-2005, 10:55 PM Way to go Mike... nice jump in from a previously untapped source in the PNW :)
SirScion 12-01-2005, 11:24 PM hey, guys, I am sorry, it was either this, or Saint Judes....I chose Saint Judes...Darren, Contact bdonscion about the Scion of Houston toydrive...

magicmanjk808 12-02-2005, 08:16 AM i was wondering on that one as well
MattMoore 12-02-2005, 03:07 PM Can I get a Scionlife license plate frame if I donate on my payday (next week)?
Not trying to seem stingy, but I don't make very much (I'm a college student) AND I have tons of bills.
I have literally have $20 to spend on myself this month (aside from bills, gas, rent and xmas gifts(these stole all my money this month)) for either a ScionLife license plate (with my scionlife username on it) or to donate to this toydrve?
SO I have to choose one or the other.
n2htwlz 12-02-2005, 03:20 PM I will go thru my collection of hot wheels also and send them in to you.
Nemesis_xD 12-02-2005, 03:50 PM hmmm...I have an unopened Hyundai Tiburon that I could send in, also. lol. I just found it from when I was obessesd with them in 2003.
gjpjr84 12-02-2005, 09:21 PM I feel that I should share this with everyone here. I decided to read through the Element thread and I decided I should make this statement over there.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/gjpjr84/element-reply.jpg
jennay 12-02-2005, 10:05 PM got another 61 cars coming your way
scionlife 12-04-2005, 07:09 PM gjpjr84, that was a realy great post you made over there. It definitely sums up the way I feel about it! I felt bad that I had to ask them to edit their total donation count, but I want to make sure that other sites didn't feel cheated because that would affect THEIR donations. :)
scionlife 12-04-2005, 07:10 PM By the way, Acurazine started their contest a little late... but they just edged us out for the top slot! They have 130 more points than we do at this point!
For those of you reading this but not donating, you can make your donation on the front page:
www.scionlife.com
Nemesis_xD 12-05-2005, 02:45 AM I am going to try to scrounge up some more $...Let me check the couch cushions....
bdonscion 12-05-2005, 03:56 AM Hey Darren,
We had our Houston Scion Toy Drive this weekend and we have a huge box of Hot Wheels that was donated(about 200-300, we haven't counted them yet). I am checking to see with the attendees if they mind if they come to the Scionlife Toy Drive instead of our local Toys or Tots that we had scheduled to drop them off to. I will let you know if we are sending them or not.
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!!
scionlife 12-05-2005, 05:19 AM Awesome! We haven't had any donations for a while... I was hoping that we could get in front again by tonight!
Otocan 12-05-2005, 03:13 PM dropped in my donation ($30), GO SCIONLIFE!! C'mon people! A good cause is a good cause! every little bit helps
jeffrgunn23 12-05-2005, 04:15 PM I just counted the hotwheels donated from the Houston toy drive and the total was 380 (if you count multi packs as one, if not then 397)!
kkawana 12-05-2005, 05:54 PM think multi-packs are counted as 1/2 of total cars in multi-pack.... ie pack 10=5points etc... if i read the rules on the toy run correctly
scionlife 12-05-2005, 06:02 PM That is correct.
jeffrgunn23 12-05-2005, 06:33 PM Then we collected 388.5!
scionlife 12-05-2005, 06:41 PM Nice! Uh... how did you get a half? Was there a five pack in there? :) I didn' think about that... hehe. Now I have to go find a half a car to even it out. :)
ohcanada_00 12-06-2005, 01:25 AM I have a 100 dollar donating coming from MDE developement and 12.00 bucks from my mom I'll scan picture tomorrow to verify!
scionlife 12-06-2005, 01:28 AM Sweet... as far as mailed donations go I am counting them when they arrive. Nothing has shown up yet.
gjpjr84 12-06-2005, 03:31 AM WHOA! go acura peeps!
Joehnn 12-06-2005, 01:47 PM Just paypaled you $5.
scionlife 12-06-2005, 04:14 PM Got it.... we're up to 1506! Acurazine is kicking our butts.... doh!
Da_Mac 12-06-2005, 04:22 PM I am working on getting the people in my office to help out also. Eventho there is only like 7 here it still will help out.. I have cars and cash coming to you Darren..

bdonscion 12-07-2005, 12:14 AM 388.5 Hotwheels are on the way for the toy drive!!!!
They were sent this afternoon.
elusivedragon 12-07-2005, 02:21 AM I get paid this Friday and will try and do a little more, my family is already donating to help my grandma so I cant do much BUT im into this so ..I will do even a little bit this weekend for sure.
Come on peeps it all adds up, even $1.00-$5.00
Not to mention the feeling of knowing you made a child smile on a great day for kids, that is PRICELESS.
"a smile is worth a thousand words" <- that is what your donating for
SpeedScion_ss 12-08-2005, 02:56 AM I am going to the SCAA event i got 10 cars. Do the cars need to be new in box or can thay be old one's ?
Da_Mac 12-08-2005, 01:35 PM They need to be in the original packaging and in good condition. Out of the package doesnt count...
scionlife 12-09-2005, 08:46 AM I am SO disappointed... 24 hours went by without a single donation. No one on this site could find it within themselves to scrape together even just $1 for the kids. I am sad.
xa-minister 12-09-2005, 11:31 AM It's not much...but i just sent you $10. Maybe this will help get us started again. How hard it is to give $5 or $10.
kkawana 12-09-2005, 02:49 PM BOOOM SHAKALAKA!!!!!!........ dunks $50 into the paypal acount.!!!!
lets go SL !!!
scionlife 12-09-2005, 05:00 PM http://www.scionlife.com/xmas/header_xmas.gif
Hey guys, it's time again for our Toy Drive! The competing sites are already in gear on their end of the contest, and I think that this year we can bring in the highest per-person donations!
The contest began Monday Nov 28th and will end on Friday Dec 16th. That is three weeks, shorter than previous years! That means we are really going to have to buckle down! Donations via PayPal can be made on the front page of ScionLife.

ohcanada_00 12-11-2005, 04:24 PM I'm looking at quite a pile of more and more Hot Wheels here at my house to take to the SCAA's. Looks like they'll be some happy Christmas mornings around here.
scionlife 12-11-2005, 06:18 PM If you don't have an icon then I couldn't match your PayPal account to your ScionLife account. Let me know the name on the PayPal account that you used, or the amount and teh date, and I can match you up.
zereaux 12-11-2005, 06:50 PM or make another donation and put you scionlife user name in the comment section...
scionlife 12-11-2005, 07:03 PM Yeah, I LIKE THAT IDEA!

It was:

Chase ? (kalel) 72 cars....
ohcanada_00 12-12-2005, 03:22 PM I think once you get the cars Kelly is bringing down, a little miracle will happen. over 1000 cars/dollars raised last night at the SCAA's

scionlife 12-12-2005, 03:56 PM That adds up to 1242!
scionlife 12-12-2005, 04:03 PM The guys over at mr2oc.com just passed on that Walmart currently has Hotwheels at 0.89 each... not too bad. If you are in the mood and can get the toys to me by Friday (in Portland) then go for it!
kkawana 12-12-2005, 04:49 PM Over 1000 raised tonight at the SCAA's Money and Cars.
Thanks sooo much to the following people:
.....
Kelly from Lake City Scion 20
Lake City Scion 100
.....
correction Kelly Bindewald personally donated 100$
and on behalf of Lake City scion she brought in 20-25cars ....
both dustin and i are flat out tired and a bit burnt out from the SCAAs......so please forgive us if we made any other mistakes.... but this one caught our eye....
xa-minister 12-12-2005, 05:06 PM that puts us on top right??
scionlife 12-12-2005, 05:27 PM Well, I don't add the new points to the score until the toys actually show up here and I can count them. it SHOULD get us on top... but the Acura site hasn't reported for a few days... they might be higher. We'll have to see when they report next. Maybe someone could go to www.acurazine.com and look for a total?
scionlife 12-12-2005, 05:27 PM A box just showed up from ScioNRG / Jennay with 58 toys in it! Rock on!
jeffrgunn23 12-12-2005, 06:27 PM Darren, Have you recieved the box we sent you from the Houston toy drive?
xa-minister 12-12-2005, 07:18 PM according to the acurazine topic, they are over $3k. It doesn't give an exact total that i can find, but they have stalled it seems like. The last post said, "here's $43 and we're over the 3000 mark"
xa-minister 12-12-2005, 07:23 PM Officially $2957, their goal is $4000
WeDriveScions 12-12-2005, 07:32 PM There's got to be some straglers around.... Come on guys! We're so close now!
scionlife 12-12-2005, 07:32 PM Darren, Have you recieved the box we sent you from the Houston toy drive?
Not yet.... but maybe today? Its only noon here.
scionlife 12-12-2005, 07:38 PM OK, Kelly from Scion Evolution just stopped by and dropped of half of the donations from the SCCA event in Seattle... he dropped off 720 toys and $100... for a total of 820 points. He is dropping off $130 and 288 toys tomorrow... for a total of 1238. That is four short of the 1242 that everything added up to above, but I'll throw in another four to get it up so we don;t have the math problem. I HATE math problems!
I am adding everything to our score now... so if Kelly doesn't show up tomorrow we can all get together and beat him up. <wink wink>
kkawana 12-12-2005, 07:44 PM after this toy drive we'll have to have to another drive to help raise some $$ for Ohcanada_00 to fund the BBQ&Kegger he threw down as a challenge to the PNW to raise 1730+ cars to beat last years SL nationwide total...
kmcniece 12-12-2005, 08:21 PM I will drop off the toys tomorrow since the strippers (Oh wait, I mean "Clothing Deficient Performance Artists") at "Dancin Bare" don't take Hotwheels as tips...
ohcanada_00 12-12-2005, 08:40 PM lol
Yeah since I just did the math and there is no way around it, It looks like my challenge to the PNW was not only beat but kicked in the teeth! ANYONE from the PNW who had a hand in the toy Drive including Heartland, LakeCity and Puyallup Scion will be at my humble home for the bash~!
Thanks and keep it up! Those Acura guys are sneaky and could pop more at any moment!
ScionDad 12-12-2005, 08:43 PM Donation sent via paypal
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone.
ohcanada_00 12-12-2005, 08:43 PM Come on guys, we only have a 195 point lead over the Acuras, and there are only 11328 donated total. Lets try to hit at least 12,000 total before the end of day tomorrow. Go into the other sites, bump the threads, promote! Beg! Plead! Trade! Do whatever you can to make sure this happens for the kids!

Also sent you an email Darren, since my paypal won't match up.

WeDriveScions 12-13-2005, 04:44 AM Yeah... It'd be nice to see those last minute "For the heck of it" big donations.... For a lil' icing on the cake...
BTW.... I can't help but stare at gjpjr84's avatar everytime he posts.... just creepy...
bBsactoguy 12-13-2005, 06:15 AM Yaaayyy... i tihnk the only reason why I wanted to give is because we're in first place...
But yes, of course, kids are needy!! These toys are important...ya'll rock!
scionlife 12-13-2005, 06:26 AM You guys have no idea how proud I am to be part of the site and the organizer of this event. Even if we came in LAST place I am happy knowing that we are toughing the hearts of unfortunate children. If we finish first place I am going to send free ScionLife stickers to everyone that donated.
YNPaul 12-13-2005, 01:41 PM I'm Paul King. I wish I could give more. It is awesome to see all the donations coming in to make children without happy.

scionlife 12-13-2005, 04:20 PM OK, I still need to know who these people are:
Brandon Davis $15

Harold Lanier $5
Kelly Bindewald 100 toys
Roger Niolet $5
Sylvio Souza, Jr $5
William Green $5
scionlife 12-13-2005, 04:22 PM Oh... and the free stickers will be the printed 3.5" ones, not the cut-vinyl colored ones... the vinyl ones just require too much work to hand them out for free. I have to hire my neighbor to weed and mask them... takes far too long. Sorry guys.
Da_Mac 12-13-2005, 04:37 PM Hey Darren I have 70 cars headed your way they will be there on thursday. I also have to collect the money from the people in my office and paypal that offer to you also.

scionlife 12-13-2005, 05:13 PM Awesome guys... it keeps getting higher and higher. I have a feeling those Acura guys are going to rally at the last minute since we have overtaken the lead. We'll see!
Da_Mac 12-13-2005, 05:41 PM Yeah but we still have more coming in the mail from other members and people are still paypaling in donations so I think if they do rally we still have more resources to crush them again...
Come on guys we can't get beat by our nemesis Honda/Acura it just can happen...
SquallLHeart 12-13-2005, 05:48 PM i'm Trung Nguyen and i just donated $5... it's what i can really afford... kinda poor myself, but hopefully it'll go towards making a kid happy :)
Joehnn 12-13-2005, 05:58 PM You guys have no idea how proud I am to be part of the site and the organizer of this event. Even if we came in LAST place I am happy knowing that we are toughing the hearts of unfortunate children. If we finish first place I am going to send free ScionLife stickers to everyone that donated.
I already proudly display my ScionLife stickers. So you can keep the ones you were going to send me. Thanks for the gesture. A class act.
Besides, I only donated a fiver.
Way to go everyone out there that donated.
bBsactoguy 12-13-2005, 06:35 PM By the time it becomes the last day, and we're at like 3995 points...
I'll be glad to donate 5 more so that we can reach that goal of 4000... Awesome turnout!! It's a good feeling... :)

scionlife 12-14-2005, 10:21 PM 20 toys showed up from a member at j-body.org, a Chevy Cavalier site. They were invited to participate, but didn't get the support they needed... a member was moved enough to mail us some of his personal stash! I also got two more PayPal donations....
...we have BROKEN 4000! Absolutely amazing! Friday is the last day... we'll see how far we can take this!
kkawana 12-14-2005, 11:17 PM if i added up #s correctly... give or take a car or 2... the list of known donors from the PNW region....
1899 cars/$$ tryin to coax another 101$/toys out of our region to break 2000+
thinking next year will have to have regional mini chalanges among the SL members :P....
WeDriveScions 12-14-2005, 11:26 PM ^ Wow.... we need another couple hundred from the PNW... IMAGINE... half the total donations from one region... BOO-YA!
Scion05BOPxB 12-14-2005, 11:44 PM 20 toys showed up from a member at j-body.org, a Chevy Cavalier site. They were invited to participate, but didn't get the support they needed... a member was moved enough to mail us some of his personal stash! I also got two more PayPal donations....

dugzilla 12-15-2005, 05:05 PM Just donated $10... " it's for the kids" Yea!!!
scionlife 12-15-2005, 05:26 PM Yup... got four donations... BCS dropped $100! I also got a $5 PayPal from Chad Allen but can't match up a username!
WeDriveScions 12-15-2005, 06:16 PM ^ That bumped the PNW over 2 grand!
scionlife 12-15-2005, 06:24 PM kmcniece just told me he is going to drop of another 15 toys from local sources as well. :)
kkawana 12-15-2005, 06:25 PM
woooOOOT
tho the downside... well not really.. but the challenge.. will be that much harder to beat next year... but we all like a challenge :)
andersg 12-15-2005, 06:48 PM Wouldn't be too hard if we were to collect say 200 cars a month during the year...
bBsactoguy 12-15-2005, 09:27 PM doh.. looks like it broke 4000 a long time ago ehhe.
Yeah... next year for sure.. i'll see if I can give more... all about support..
gjpjr84 12-15-2005, 09:33 PM Wouldn't be too hard if we were to collect say 200 cars a month during the year...
cant do that, especially after what happened with the elements.
kmcniece 12-15-2005, 11:43 PM I personally think we should allow the collection of toys all year long. It would have been easier for me to donate more a little at a time vs. what little I did all at once.....
I also think we should, for the sake of the Holiday's, allow Element owners to count their chickens even before they were hatched.....
But hey, that's just my .02
ohcanada_00 12-16-2005, 12:00 AM I personally think we should allow the collection of toys all year long. It would have been easier for me to donate more a little at a time vs. what little I did all at once.....

But hey, that's just my .02 at this point, I agree!! rabble rabble rouse arrararargharga rabble
Its the spirit and to be honest if they collected all year long, they deserve to get recognized for what they collected not what they scrapped together in the last few days.
krdshrk 12-16-2005, 12:32 AM I just matched Lady Luck's donation.. <3 Kellie
DJ_X_Trodinaire 12-16-2005, 02:37 AM what time does this end?
kkawana 12-16-2005, 03:19 AM i believe that at the minimum paypal donations be marked by 1159ish friday night all is good... as for mailed cars.. i dont think post marked on friday counts
scionlife 12-16-2005, 05:01 AM Yes, PayPal donations will be accepted until 11:59PM Friday night. Toys MUST be here by the same time... we are doing our photos Saturday and our donation on Sunday or Monday.
Nemesis_xD 12-16-2005, 05:49 AM Schweet! 1st place so far! Yay!
xa-minister 12-16-2005, 11:37 AM Just a question, but have all the mods donated?
kewlbox 12-16-2005, 02:46 PM I just put in 15.00, hopefully next year i could give more.
scionlife 12-16-2005, 03:08 PM Just a question, but have all the mods donated?
No, but I do not like to think of it that way. Our mods donate a LOT of their personal time to help this site prosper. They do not receive any pay for their investment, and not everyone is in a place that they can afford to donate money to every charity they see. I am very grateful that each of our mods have decided to help ScionLife become the best automotive enthusiast site on the net and would NEVER think any less of them because they couldn't give money for this cause.
scionlife 12-16-2005, 03:09 PM OK guys, we are up to 4330 on our last day. PayPal donations will be accepted through 11:59PM tonight.
Today Troy and I will be heading out to EVERY store in our area that carries Hotwheels and cleaning out their aisles. I will take photos and post them a little later today.
ohcanada_00 12-16-2005, 04:22 PM Starts rousing protest to allow the Element owners to show all the donations!!
OTHER BOXES have feelings to ya know!!!!
Da_Mac 12-16-2005, 04:35 PM I agree with that I think the Element Owners club should be alowed to enter their entire stockpile. Its only fair they went through the trouble of collecting them they should count them...
xa-minister 12-16-2005, 05:15 PM you guys know you are only saying this because we are winning. If the element guys were on top and we were close behind, there wouldn't be many people here wanting them to count all the past donations.
That was what got all those donations kicked out in the first place. At this point it doesn't matter whether they count or not, they are all going to kids no matter what.
WeDriveScions 12-16-2005, 05:17 PM < Waiting for that super-rich one of us around here to donate 1,000 dollars or something at the last minute.... are you out there? (I can always hope) :lalala:
Sanjuro 12-16-2005, 06:09 PM I just dropped 10. I wish it could have been more, but bills come knocking with Santa arund here. ;)
scionlife 12-16-2005, 07:51 PM We just had more donations! We are keeping our lead, good job guys!
If you donated and don't have an icon next to your name on each post than I didn't match your username to your PayPal account. Check the official list for your PayPal account name and donation... then let me know your ScionLife username!
scionlife 12-16-2005, 08:00 PM Troy just handed me $20 bump us up a little more...
Sanjuro 12-16-2005, 08:04 PM I am REALLY impressed with all the members here at Scionlife. What a showing so far! I really wish I had more to give
gjpjr84 12-16-2005, 09:07 PM the elements have like 10k or so
xa-minister 12-16-2005, 09:33 PM if they have that many, we ought to count them. They smoked us, even if it was throughout the year
Scion05BOPxB 12-16-2005, 09:52 PM Darren...
How about the legality of say... an individual saving money to a Christmas club or something like that, and then when you cash it out near Holiday time, you donate the money then?
Just a thought for those that are posting on the last page about the year long collection.
scionlife 12-16-2005, 10:09 PM Next year I am going to rewrite the rules say we can have a little more fun for longer instead of having to live by the strict rules of the contest.
By the way, 10 more toys just arrived from Jennay and 70 from Da_Mac! Also a couple more donations.
scionlife 12-16-2005, 10:29 PM Argh... I am almost completely exhausted... these past couple days have been HECTIC! Decided to take a nap, Troy decided to have fun with my lifeless body...

scionlife 12-17-2005, 01:58 AM Shiela Swanson from Scion and engifeer just put us over the 4500 mark! I am absolutely thrilled, you guys. I hoped we could win, but it looks like we might really do it for the first time in the three years of this competition! Five hours to go!

bBsactoguy 12-17-2005, 03:07 AM Is that a scionlife photo contest 3.0 example hehe jk : D

BillStrong 12-17-2005, 03:58 AM Holy cow!
You guys absolutely rock!
Right now the MR2OC.com is sitting at 3144
a record for us.
awesome contest folks!!!
BillStrong 12-17-2005, 04:02 AM right now I have raided all of the Charlottesville Va walmarts, kmarts and toysRus's. Not one hot wheel or matchbox remains in Thomas Jefferson Ville.
Tomorrow the wife and kids and I are attacking Madison Heights and Lynchburg Va!
I have four 42 gallon contractor trash bags filled with cars. I have already donated 500 cars to the Toys For Tots as they needed them early, and 25 to a sick child at the UVA Childrens Medical Center.
DJ_X_Trodinaire 12-17-2005, 05:32 AM so whats da verdict???
WeDriveScions 12-17-2005, 06:14 AM Pretty sure we took the most given the rules... But would be curious to see the grand total of all collected with everyone accounted for!
A whole new generation of car freaks will be encouraged! YES!
scionlife 12-17-2005, 06:56 AM Final score: 4535! Absolutely unbelievable guys! I will be getting final scores throughout the night from the other sites, but I am pretty sure we finally won!

Darren great job like always, I think the Chrismas Club idea is cool.
SirScion 12-17-2005, 01:37 PM Yeah! Did you ever get the toys from Houston Darren? Cuz my toys were included in there.
Da_Mac 12-17-2005, 02:04 PM 16692 donations collected amongst each of the sites wow thats nice 4535 just from SL even nicer.. I have to say I am very proud to be part of this community, I used to belong to 2 others 1 of which is on this list and the other isnt but neither had a community like SL has.. I am very happy to be here.. Congrats on the 1st place SL, and way to go to all who donated..
scionlife 12-17-2005, 03:21 PM SirScion, I DID get the cars from Houston, thank you!
I am SO proud of this family for coming together and making this happen! Wow!
scionlife 12-17-2005, 04:11 PM OK guys, check THIS out.
Late last night I got an email from the rav4world.com forum that they had purchased their toys at the same store that we purchased ours - on the same day. All diecast toys were on SALE for 20% off and although we had received a 10% manager's discount on a lot of them, we did NOT receive the proper discount on ALL of them. So I called them last night and the told me to come in first thing in the morning to take care of it.
I just walked out of our local Fred Meyer's department store with 268 more toys without spending an additional penny! Although it is past the deadline I am making a special allowance for their error and adding that to our total. Wahoo!
scionlife 12-17-2005, 04:29 PM As promised, I am going to send some FREE ScionLife stickers to anyone that donated to our WINNING cause! Email me your mailing address and your ScionLife username and I will get them out early next week!
