Default DEC 05 Consumer Reports reviewed the tC

Overall, liked it and reccomended it.

Highs: Ride, quietness, rear seat, hatchback versatility, turning circle, and value

Lows: No rear wiper, lacks a sport flair.

They also tested the Chev Cobalt SS, Acura RSX (also reccomended), and Mitsu Eclipse.

That is all

IDK. I'm a subscriber, so I think it comes earlier to subscribers than on newsstands.

Can anyone out there please define what "sport flair" really means? Sounds like useless nonesense in CR's part. Just something to add to the "lows" column to make it more interesting to readers.

i really have to agree with that lack of rear wiper. its really retarded not to have one on a sloping hatchback, and its very useful on cold nights/mornings with the rear window covered in dew.

To anyone who is wondering, yes its out in newstands right now, saw it at publix the other night and, as a matter of fact, the tC is the cover car (whats that say about it?). And I can definately relate to the complaint about not having a rear wiper. I'm half expecting it on the '07's.

They thought that it handled more like a sedan, than a sports coupe.

Regardless, they were pretty happy with the car. I'm sure some tC owners could point out more flaws with the car than CR found, so I'd be fine with the review.

(no one expects them to name it the car of the century or anything, right?)

I second this. I never had a problem with it until yesterday morning when I left my car out and we had a hard frost. Not fun.

Not sporty and no rear wiper? If those are the only negatives then the tC is GREAT! Looks sporty IMO, so I don't know what CR is thinking. Had my '06 BSP tC since July and I love it!

Isn't a word like 'sporty' a very subjective thing? I mean how can you rate based on that? I like to think the tC is on the sexier, more subtle side of sporty (which is cooler IMO). Lack of wiper, yes, that is a qualifiable remark. But saying something is or isn't sporty is not.
