its easier to save money in one car then it is to have a beater that constantly needs more money to be put into repairs  been there done that

My 06 tC is my winter "beater". I gotta protect my mint 83 Supra from the salty roads of WI.

I get a work car so my b sits all alone in the garage all winter long. Meanwhile I get to drive a Volvo S60 AWD for work, I don't think I can get stuck (at least it handled everything chicago has given us this year so far)
Kinda nice working in the car biz
