TRD Springs are in!
Well, after quite a battle I emerged from under the car with only two casualties: a 19mm wrench and my long handled socket wrench. "Hello, Sears, yeah, funny story..."
Whatever robot put on those lower bolts that hold the rear shocks on must have had his Wheaties that morning but after a couple hours of work they finally broke.
The car looks great but I can't help but think it actually dropped more in the rear than in the front. maybe the front needs a little time to settle, but has anyone else noticed this with the TRD springs?
This weekend: short shifter, anyone wanna help?

My front aso seems a little higher, but Im going to wait it out and see if they settle. I measured the drop before and after and it is a level drop so I think thats just how the car has always sat...you just never noticed the gap difference before because the gap was so large.
Can anybody else with the TRD kit comment on this who has had the springs for 6 months or more?

Yeah, you're probably right. Now my wife is all excited about new rims. Seems I've passed my condition on to her (insert STD joke here). She used to complain about me and MY car, now she has her baby and my behaviour doesn't seem so strange anymore.
I've had my trd springs on for about 10 months. The back is very low, and the front seems higher. However, if you look closely, the fender well in the front is much larger, so it gives the impression that it is sitting higher in the front than in the rear.
What you should try and do is park your car on level ground and measure from the ground up to the side skirt in the front and rear and then compare the measurements.
You may be suprised that the front is actually lower...

The front appears a bit higher due to the front fender cutout being a little larger than the rear. But they settle very nicely. Here are a couple of pics of mine after a couple of months.

My friend Clayton1 on these boards has the TRD drop. The drop is nice after setting, but IMO and his, it does give the illusion that the drop in the front is higher. This is due to the fender cut.
I on the other hand purchased the Tein H-techs. And even with the fender being larger in front, it does not give that look to where your car is leaning backwards. After seeing my H-techs, Clayton1 like my H-tech drop over the TRD. The TRD doesn't even look lowered in my opinion, unless you have at least 18's on the car.
TRD = \ kinda look.
Tein S-techs = \ kinda look.(slammed look, but still looks like the car is pitched backwards)
H-techs = / kinda look. (front is lower, as well as LOOKS lower)
