Default TIME to name the club in the NW!?!?

Ok as mentioned in another thread I think its time to start thinking about a name for the local Scion club. I know this Regional sub forum is for the NW...so lets start hearing some names. Here are what I've come up with...and yes I am suggesting some that use seattle as an icon...though I feel the name should encompass a broader area.

Ok let the voting begin, I'll add other names as they are suggested.

Default ok there are so many to chose from

ok so now let's all decide since this is a very critical thing. I don't think it should contain anything that says Seattle in it since it will incompass much more tan Seattle. I would hope that it would be open to all in the state. I don't know what do you guys think.

NWS? Northwest Scion? A little generic....

TSL "Team Scion Life" hehe... might as well take advantage of the fact that this site is a NW-based site. No other club can claim to be officially affiliated with the site. I'm going to start taking part in club activities...

How about a name that doesn't have the word Scion in it? It could refer to JDM Toyota somehow.... JTC... Japanese Toyota Club. Hehe... something a little choppy so it seems like it is a direct Japanese translation?

Just ideas.

Hmmm....Interesting thought.

Personally, it doesn't really matter to me what the name is.

I think we should try to say Scion in the name somewhere though.

Right ON! I was actually going to e-mail you today Darren because I knew you'd said you were going to take a more active roll in the club once the cars were about to be launched here. I'm all for a name that either supports the Scion Life name or a club that says something true to the cars heritage...though the tC is an american car...

I know I know my names I put up are far to bland...I'll work on this get post something later.

I GOT IT!

Club Kaizen

From the Toyota's practice of "kaizen" meaning striving for constant improvement. It's one of the core concenpts they state when you become an employee. You don't get much more JDM than using a Japanese word...and it has a really strong meaning. Since these cars are designed to be modified and upgraded that would be a form of improvement.

What does everyone think?

I guess we need to decide if there is going to be a Portland/Seattle club or two different clubs. I would be down to headup the Portland club if it is seperate, but I don't think I have the time to do a Seattle/Portland combo.

Lets vote on it in another post...

How about we run it as a joint club between Seattle and Portland, same name, share any discounts we can get. Have big meets with people from both areas. And all that good stuff. But have it be set up as a co-chaired club. If you couldn't guess I would be happy to run the Seattle Club.

Sound like a plan?

im with bcs, i dont care what the name is either...

but let me put in a word or two. i think the name should include seattle. as thats where most of the events / shows happen. when people search for clubs, most likely they with search with the seattle name in it.

seattle is where it all happens... but obviously the club with have members who arent from seattle.

just think of it as seattle being the head office, or central meeting place

Not that I own a Scion yet, (tC isn't out yet, sheesh)I voted for Team Kaizen. Toyota is known for being the leader in Lean Manufacturing, as can be seen in the cost of the Scions. I only know about that crap 'cause I work in a machine shop which is slowly (very slowly) converting to lean manufacturing.

Aside from the history lesson, I just think it sounds cool, not bland in any way, and quite original. Though I think that it'd be better for an independant team, not necessarily a Scion chapter.

It looks like a final club name has been chosen.

Sorry to me and my one supporter but club kaizen is out

A more nutral and direct name will be used... but that's all I'll say for today.

ok so I am dredging up old stuff since I am really bored today. So I thought I pull a steve.

Does anyone remeber this, when we were all trying to figure out what to call the new car club?

This was the fun time befor it all started to much and life was much simpler

It feels like yesterday and yet so long ago.

And so many new faces and a few old friends still left on here. Scion is just fun
