View Full Version : Test drive review
fearturtle44 04-10-2004, 03:02 PM Doesn't it seem like somebody (Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Motor Week, etc.) would have had a test drive of the tC by now and reported on it? We are a little over two months away and still nobody has given this thing a test drive and reported on it.....
HURRY UP, already!
Kevin
KAuss 04-11-2004, 01:02 AM Boy I remember when I was waiting on the Matrix.... Take a look at SportCompactCar... Thats the FIRST magazine to have test driven (and hop up) a Matrix XRS...
The only thing that sets the tC apart is the launch of the S/C will be in Nov... So SCC won't actually be interested till then I would guess...
I'm waiting heavily on the test drive as well... You're not the only on toughing through this one :D
Btw, I still have the centerfold poster of the Matrix in red posted on my wall :D (What kind of weirdo posts pics of 18K cars?)
djimpak 04-11-2004, 04:30 AM i'm also waiting for somebody to reveiw/test drive the tC. i want to test drive the tC myself too.
Rich_Manas 04-11-2004, 05:16 AM you won't see a full review of the tC until its release in june. magazines will test a new car a month or two before its launch and the factory will let them have a pre-production model for a couple of days. all these stories we hear of seeing tC on the road could either be a corporate employee driving or a road test by one of the mags.
couper2 04-11-2004, 06:07 AM Didn't take awhile before a car mag did a test on either the xA or the xB?
djimpak 04-11-2004, 06:24 AM when was the xa and xb released first in california? i remember seeing somewhere a review of the 2 cars in AutoWeek in April 2003.

djimpak 04-11-2004, 07:13 AM ohh. i thought it was and april issue.
tC4me 04-14-2004, 12:26 AM did anyone notice in the sport compact car's review that they put the wrong interior picture? its the mazda picture from an artical a few pages behind it.

SCC has a reveiw?
tC4me 04-14-2004, 06:57 AM yeah, the may issue. the front says: Hollywood After Hours, under SCC.
KAuss 04-14-2004, 10:08 AM HAHAHA SCC does it again!! First the Matrix now this... Oh boy... Now we all know where to look in the future!!!
(And I thought it would take them some time...)
Chrispy04 04-14-2004, 06:57 PM It isn't really a review. It's more of a blurb from the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The only really new information is a quote from Gary Boler, who says that the TRD supercharger will be a Vortech centrifugal, rather than an Eaton roots blower like previous TRD superchargers.
tC4me 04-14-2004, 07:07 PM but it is more than what's been said before.
reclusedx 04-14-2004, 07:12 PM can someone scan this please?
KAuss 04-14-2004, 08:15 PM can someone scan this please?
Just get a copy... I mean if it was just a pic, then I guess it's cool, but these folks do stay in business by selling their mags... Aside from helping them out, you'll also be helping this site out by not putting (potentially illegal) scans of copyrighted material...
Just a little friendly public remidner :D
fearturtle44 04-14-2004, 09:45 PM Easiest way w/o buying is to hit your local bookstore. Then if you like the issue, etc., buy it.....
Kevin
djimpak 04-14-2004, 10:32 PM i wish i had a ride to the nearest bookstore...
alexistc 04-14-2004, 11:11 PM magazines earn 95% of their money from selling advertisements... in fact when you subscribe you become part of the product that magazines sell... don't get me wrong, i love my mags, but i wouldn't feel too guilty if me or someone else scanned a page...
toodles
tim
Distracted_Thinker 04-14-2004, 11:36 PM I belive that issue had a white R34 GtR on it right?
Chrispy04 04-15-2004, 12:25 AM That's right, it's the May 2004 issue.
KAuss 04-15-2004, 06:46 AM They make money off advertisements... They gain advertisement through high sales... Without sales, they have nothing... And seriously, if you dno't feel for copying a few pages of this and that, then it makes the whole conversation pointless :D
Just note that if it was YOUR work that you put out there, you sure wouldn't want someone ripping your stuff on every car forum instead of having people say to buy a copy to support your future work :D
Anywho, this isn't an ethics forum... But please think about the owner of this site and how they would take it if legal actions were taken against them because of a few member's neglect for the copyright laws...
I also agree with Kevin, just drive or walk to your local Walmart / Safeway (westcoast) and like any other store, even a library... You can always read the mags legally there... (then disscus them here but not qoute the whole article :D)
