Default scion tc dvd indash questions

For those of you who have dvd indash installed for scion tc, do you need to remove the cover when you install it? I think the cover is the best for security. If it has to be removed, then I may not go for it......

You can still use the cover with the Kenwood DDX 7017. You just have to drill a few holes in the existing brackets so it sets back just a bit.

Ive heard from other sources that you have to take out the cover because the cover sticks out too far when opened to let the screen come out fully. Ive seen pictures of it too and the cover sticks out too far. sorry if its a dissapointment but you could always modify it some how to make it all fit and work together.

Thanks so much! But I have ordered the dvd indash a few days ago and will see if I want to cut it off that way though. I guess I will find a way to hide the cover.
