took way too long. i did so many black coats, wetsand. coat, wetsand. black coat. wet sand but i think it came out pretty good. i still got my stock colored console so i can always switch back and forth.

looks tyte. i painted my center console black a long time ago. but i left the center part of it silver. yours looks tyte though, im gonna have to get my whole thing painted now.

i actually started this a week ago puttin on 3-4 primer coats after i sanded down everything.

yesterday i finished some black coats.

today i wetsanded, black coated and then finally put on some clear coat.

so it should take 2 days if u want it do it correctly by letting the paint dry totally.

 

what grit sand paper and paint did you use? i'm planning on doing gun metal to mine

 

when i read the title i was worried, (remember that rs red fiasco from back in may?), but i like it. well done. i could use some more close ups to see if it looks jerry rigged or matched well, but a nice mod to the dash. clean

 

doesn't look too bad...are you planning on repainting the burned through sanding marks on the stereo door?

where did you get your second center console? im considering doing this. looks nicee. =D

 

nah i wanted the door to be a little different. pic doesnt show it but the sanding marks are pretty cool imho. with a clear coat on them, it looks genuine.

i used fine 15grit for the wetsand. i forget the # for the sanding process. it doesnt really matter the number as long as it sands out the original paint.

2nd console i got from a katrina victim. props to him.
