Default Question regarding Fog Lights

Isn't there supposed to be a switch to turn on the Fog Lights? My wife just got her xB today and said that the fog lights come on with the head lights. She can't find a switch for the fog lights to turn them off.

Also, has anyone found a relay or other location where you can install a jumper so the fog lights will stay on when you put your high beams on.

Thanks

I just got mine as well, in the middle of the dash, under the radio there are 3 square type slots, the light switch should be installed there.

Hey ! I noticed my drivers side shakes, not installed right ? Almost looks like a seal is missing around the light ?

i think that when u have your hi-beams ON, your foglights will turn off, just like how your foglights will turn off when you have your headlights off. you have to have your headlights(lo beam only) on to have the foglights on.

someone already posted a way to rewire the foglights so that u can always have them on or off, regardless of your headlight status, which SHOULD help your problem... do a search.

About your driver side fog light shaking, if you have factory installed AEM cold air intake, that maybe causing the shake. Mine does the same thing, as I looked the filter is hitting the socket of the fog lamp inside causing it to vibrate as engine revs, it shakes so bad, just made my driver side fog lamp loose. STUPID AEM intake! Now one fog lamp is loose because of it and only way to fix that shake is to remove the intake and change either to a shorter filter or change intake & replace the whole bracket/bumper, since fog lamp no longer fits snug into plastic snaps.

By the way, purpose of fog lamp is to light near & wide, HI beam will only blind you when used in fog, if you need more brightness, I suggest you change your bulbs and/or change harness if necessary. Changed my fog bulbs to PIAA yellow bulbs to increase efficiency of FOG lamp.

Thanks for the replies! My wife is up in NY for a few months and bought the xB up there. She found the switch the next morning. As for the rewire for the Fog Lights, I found the post showing the procedure.

Thanks again!

kagero79 If you would like to help the driver fog light from shaking, a quick and easy way to get some clearance is to loosen the AEM air filter and slide it down the pipe towards the ground about an inch and then retighten the filter. This worked perfectly for me and others on this board.

I did that, but still hitting the light, thanks for suggesting though. must be the way my intake was bent. I should just change mine to Injen since they are better, IMO.

I found just taking the wire from behing the fog light and pulling it up to the wires above, twistying it so that it is out of the way and the problem is solved.
