mikochu 04-11-2004, 06:02 AM It took about 25 days (temp tags only last a month) to get my permanent tag. I live in Florida, so it might be different...
It kinda looks like eggroll...maybe if the 5s were upside down..and the 7s were rotated 180 degrees...
BlueScionXB 04-11-2004, 06:18 AM I have personal plates on the way "ICEBOX1" to go on my blue scion...they should be here in 8-12 weeks...I don't even have my regular plates yet...
xAzNDeVoTioN 04-11-2004, 07:29 AM just got mine today ... exactly one month
WS_Scion 04-11-2004, 07:43 AM I think your paperwork was misplaced. I got my car about 5 weeks ago and my plates arrived last week. The tags expire in March 2005.
SCI_FIRE 04-11-2004, 01:48 PM It took 2 months for my personalized plates to come in. A week later, my regular plates arrived, and I was able to go to DMV to switch them out.
applezz 04-11-2004, 01:52 PM I just have the standard plate, but I drove off the lot with it.

The advantage of buying from a good dealer  ! ROFL. No, here in maryland some dealers chose to file MVA paperwork over the internet and process the plates same day. So you leave with Hard tags and registration. NO WAIT!
BlueScionXB 04-11-2004, 02:09 PM That would be something much needed in CA, only problem is that there are so many problems with the DMV and state budget sh1t over here that such a program would never be put into place...
superjeer 04-11-2004, 02:09 PM I've had mine for under two months and have had four sets of plates! Dealer then temp (PA) then NY real, and finally my custom's IMINABOX
gabe_the_penguin 04-11-2004, 06:59 PM uhhhh i got my xa at the end of january... and my plates stilll havent arrived.. damn california.. :D
empleh 04-12-2004, 04:54 AM my plates took almost exactly 90 days, which is what the usual time is. i still havent put my plates on. half lazy, and half of me has a wierd theory that if a cop sees me, he'll be to lazy to right down my vin number which is a little longer than a liscence plate:P i know its stupid, but hey i haven't gotten pulled over yet....*knocks on wood*
scionAR 04-14-2004, 05:50 PM Eggroll sounds good!!
Yeah, I live in LA and it took about a month and a half, you know those damn state employees!
Leinad 04-15-2004, 02:05 AM only 3 weeks here in san jose, ca. gee, reading all these posts of super long waits had me worried, but i just got the call and the dealer has the plates for me to come pick up tomorrow.
WS_Scion 05-02-2004, 05:06 PM BlueScionXB,
Keep checking your snail mail. Yesterday, I recieved a notice from the DMV that my vanity plates are ready to be picked up.
They match my username "WS SCION"
TheScionicMan 05-02-2004, 05:56 PM Just got mine last week. They said 6 to 8 weeks for personalized plates, it took about 7 weeks...
I just posted this on another thread>>>I got da car last month (xA) and I love it.. i juz got 1 question... I had my license plate personalized and I picked S3X for it.. meaning (S) for Scion, (3) for 3thousand dollars that i paid for the Downpayment, and (X) for xA. Now, my brother tells me that DMV will prolly not allow it since it may mean the other way around..which is SEX :? ..can you guys tell me if the DMV will really junk it or not? i tried to order it online and I had it already processed but Im not sure if they will put an OK on it... :?:
Distracted_Thinker 05-03-2004, 11:23 PM May sound kind of stupid question but how do you get personalized plates?
scottmbritton 05-03-2004, 11:48 PM texas has a lot of special plates
http://www.dot.state.tx.us/vtr/spplates/allplates.htm
You have to go to a VTR office and fill out a form for personalized/special plates though.
In Cali it can all be done online.

I think they'll spot that in a second. And, btw, you're among friends, you don't need to bull$hit us on what it's "supposed " to mean... C'mon, you must be really excited about your downpayment amount...

Check out this site if you're in CALIFORNIA

WS_Scion 05-04-2004, 01:31 AM When I ordered my custom plates CA DMV had field on the online form that asked the meaning of the combination. Let us know if S3X made it.
I think I heard somewhere that just because you made it through the website, it doesn't mean you will still get that combination.

WS_Scion 05-04-2004, 03:37 AM It took about seven weeks for the notice to pick up my plates to arrive. Someone else posted in this thread that it took seven weeks for theirs as well.
