Default Inejn CAI Problem

the other day to proof the difference between a stock scion with mine that has an injen cai, i race my car with another friend ,the results where not as pleasing!...the first race we where in 3rd gear and it was like he had the injen and I had the stock one, my car was slower than his! ..whe race a couple of more times and it was the same his car was catching up to me like if he was the one with the cai, since than im feeling like a loss of power of the car,..I would like to ask if anyone knows what could be the problem in my car? and if anyone had experience the same problem , like a lost of power with the installation of the injen cai..?

There are some other questions to ask beofre you go blaming the intake. Were you by yourself or did you have a pasenger? Is he a lot lighter than you? Are you in an auto or manual? Is he an auto or manual? What were the differences in your fuel loads? Are you on 18" wheels? All of these variables can make a huge difference in performance.

First make sure that ALL of your connections are tight. Then switch drivers and run the same race. Its possible he's just better?

Intakes lose low end power if you didnt know that already
A lot of people dont realize that an intake will slow you down in the low end, but make up for the difference in the top end. A CAI will slow down your 1/4 mile times, especially if you are in an automatic.
