yo, just letten you know... please dont get mad at me for this kinda post but i need some tips and pointers on getten into the whole car scene. I just baught my own first car.. and beleive it or not i got a scion xa lol.... awsome car not that i have much experience to compare it to but its kewl. aok here's the problem, The xa is stock (performance wise) and i need some pointers on improving performance. Im fairly broke now and i have nothing better to spend money on so im willing to put in the job effort to improve my car. Just wondring what would be the best setup to go with in my minimum wage range. Just asken, the websites out there are great but im hoping to get ideas from differant people who i can ask questions. Thanks.

With you limited budget I would say just do the minor bolt-ons your not gonna get alot of power out of this motor start with a intake and exhaust, then save some money for a bit and if you want get a supercharger the car will okay but still not a race car. I would say do intake, exhaust then just go for looks.

My 2 cents.

thanks man, thats what i was thinken, i dunno i figured if i worked my new job (15 dollars and hour) over the summer a lot and saved up some cash from tutoring and baby/dogsitting id be set for supercharger by middle of next year or so. i figure the car will be fairly quick off that line considering its base HP expecially since it ways around 4 or 5 pounds... (J/k) 8) . besides it would be nice to have something to back up my claims cause its a sweet car, but lacks a little in power. anyways after that im looken at Starlite kit. id prolly get some low cost 17" rims first though. i prolly wont lower it cause there are a lot of bumps and stuff around where i live. But everyone loves the lights haha. i wanna get the new speedometer thing that lights up all cool. it'll go cool with the stick and underdash lights.

just wondren. what would a real "racing" scion consist of.. basically striping it cept the body id think w/e get back to be on my ideaa.

Hey Patrick

Congratulations on your first new car purchase ... and such a wise choice.

Quick :?:, what area are you in ... we need a dog sitter from time to time and would love to support a fellow Scion enthusiast

The xA is light. I like its 0-20 acceleration from a stoplight, and I only go to 5k or so before shifting.

I posted elsewhere that I'd go to redline... but really, I don't. :D I don't push 'er that much.
