Default Help me Decide

The SCION TC and the RSX TYPE S is my top two choices for a new car. I cant seem to make up my mind. One is 4 grand cheaper, the other has like an extra 40-50 hp with 6speed. Can't choose so if you were me what would you pick?

Why ask us? Were all biased towards tC's, go ask friends , that would be your best bet bud.

I was also looking at an rsx before ordering a tc but, after reading about the tranny problems i decided on the tc plus its cheaper. Best bang for the buck get a tc

just because you guys own a scion tc doesn't mean you'll be biased. I mean so far 3 people responed and 2 of them have been down the same road that i have. so who else better to hear from then those who been on my path and see why they choose the path they did.

i thought a Type S cost roughly $24K, making it almost $8K more. for that price get a WRX.

so a type-S has more horsepower....... it doesnt stop me from racing them with my Tc. Honestly to me, both cars were awsome and gave me about the same since of speed. Tc has a torquey engine and the Type-S revs like theres no tomorrow. I wanted a type-S just becuase my friend has one and he let me drive it . But then i test drove a Tc at the dealer and knew this car was it for me. Very fun car, my friend with the type-S likes it too.

Test drive them both man, but if you do make sure you test drive both with the same trannies (i.e. both manual or both autos) will give you better camparison and in the end, you will know what is right. [/i]

All in all a stock tC with 6% tax totalled $18,700. Compared to the msrp price of an rsx of $23,900, that's $5,200 you will save alone.
A tC will match what the rsx has to offer and then some, except for the power on the top end. I think the tC is more practical, has good power, and is the overall better choice.

I'd pick the Civic Si over the RSX-S or tC if you can wait since the Si will be out in December (watch out for jacked up prices). I'm guessing the RSX-Ss not be selling once the Si is on the road. The tC is the best bang for your buck at $17000, the RSX-S is about to be yesterdays news (thanks to the Si). So Si first if you want performance, tC if you want an inexpensive car that has comparable performance to the regular RSX, and RSX-S if you...well...just pick between the tC or the Si.

i agree with BrEaK....but if you can spend the extra 4k that the RSX costs, get a supercharged tC....then you get the best of both worlds.

Im not really into boost. I rather keep the car stock. The Si is a good choice but the look just honestly doesnt appeal to me in any way. I might wait till the SI hit the market next month to see how much of a deal i can get on a RSX-S. I went to check out some figures for insurance today and let me say...the difference is a whole grand between the scion and the RSX-S.

I read ppl having tranny problems within 20k miles, like they have 2 replace it...not so good if u ask me. I have to admit the rsx look sexy but for the price cant go wrong with the tc.

imo they made the newer rsx look like the civics. The engine revving makes me melt but the lack of torque is dumb. The new civic...not going for it. I do like hondas but the tC just stands out so much more...and like you said the insurance prices are lower.

I have been on the rsx forum for a while but rarely any car has to get their tranny replaced at 20k. That is not a big issue with the rsx, the only issue is the 2 & 3 gear grinding that i have been reading about.
