Well thanks for the props. Not sure how true it is...but fun none the less.

The tranny is obviously the weak link compared to the manual shift....but only at first. Once completed, a modified automatic at the track will certainly out shift a manual. On a road course, a manual has so much more control...but the newer E shifts are pretty figgin cool automatics.

A valve body upgrade will provide serious hard shifts and runs about $500. I'm waiting to see if this will handle 13's reliable...if not, I guess I will be going the next step.

The first power failure point for this transmission is the sprag also know as a one way bearing. This upgrade should allow your tranny to hold over 500 wtq. The next failure point in the stock clutch packs. Replacing of both the sprag and clutch packs will hold over 600 wtq.

All 3 of these upgrades runs about $1800 installed.

The first 2 upgrades which would long term handle 13's would run about $1400

And the mighty pops shows up.....with the 1st 3 upgrades done the only noticable difference would the shifts correct? Or would there be some power gains?

Yup, no power gains per say.

Well, right now, when your auto shifts, you can see the rpms drop down and glide shift to the next gear. With the valve body mod, your rpms would hardly drop as it slams into the next gear. The final 2 mods just helps keep the internal parts from smashing apart.
