My Taillights :D Check it out.

Thanks to http://www.bluebatmobile.com for the overlays. A great inexpensive way to get rid of those bright tail lights. A MUST for the dark colored boxes:

Nice tail light kit! I wish he took paypal...I don't have initiative to send a money order...

The smoked tails aren't my thing... But I those pics sold me on buying a carbon fiber gas door applique for my Camo ;P

Yeah, had to sneak my gas door in the pic. It blends in really well with the camo and from many angles it doesn't even show. That's why I like the smoked tails too, they don't stand out, everythings dark. I'm eyeballing some graphite rims too, just to keep it dark.

Careful, that CF stuff's addictive. I just ordered a door handle kit and a piece for the trunk, too. I find myself daydreaming of the CF hood and engine cover like on that blue short bus on overboost.com. If only I could get my wife interested, it would be so much easier...

I know exactly what you mean with that carbon fiber stuff..the smoke tail lights look good

I really like it on the camo... I've seen it on other colors and didn't think that I wanted it.. Changed my mind :)

I like the factory tails myself, but I'm still either going to get (not sure what the tail lights are called... the ones that Opr8r has).. or else going for the kit that seperates the different parts of the tail-light with factory color... I'm dead sleepy or I'd find whatever the hell I'm talking about, but going to bed now ;P

Hmmm, now the big decision, to smoke the tails (well with overlay) or to cherry them on my black box...

Looks good Mark, did you get it to smooth out like you wanted when we were in Sacramento? If so how'd you do it?

Mikochu - I used my bank's online Bill Pay. Simple and fits my lazy lifestyle

3fixA - The bubbles just needed a little poke and some time in the sun. (Come to think of it, so do I  ) The wrinkles along the edges I fixed with Photoshop    I just need to brush a little adhesive behind them...

NOTE* Don't put these (or anything) on in the wee hours of the morning. It was a bad combination of garage getting cold, cold stares from my wife as she would wake periodically and the need for sleep that made me leave them not finished perfectly.

But even with the flaws, (my fault, not bluebatmobile.com) I think it looks so much better. The lights blend in instead of standing out

I can't wait to see your side markers smoked!
I've been wanting to smoke the sidemarkers...
Did you need to pop off the side markers to get them on and do they go on the inside of the marker or just on top (i.e. "overlay"?)

TheScionicMan
04-12-2004, 08:51 PM
They are overlays, but I did pop them off to apply them just cuz it was easier to work with AND cuz they pop out so easily.

Cool! So, do you just pry them off, is there anything that needs extra attention so as not to break something, are they fragile? I can't wait to see your pix...maybe I'll do mine tonight  !
The tails look great now I want to smoke my OEM tails too, thanks Man!

yeah, just grab them by the ends and pull. Pull the rear end out a little first, then grab the rest and apply pressure. There are tabs on each end holding them in place, the wiring goes towards the front. I also waxed behind them while I had them off

Hey, bat, legally, can you smoke the headlights....cause that would look bad ___ stuck on a polar xB!
also, do you ship to texas?

Blue_Batmobile
04-15-2004, 12:32 PM
I ship worldwide  . As far as legality goes, it's not legal to alter the look of your headlights and taillights. However, here i Cali, it's illegal to have your front windows tinted, yet, alot of people do it. The tint isn't all that dark. I've never had any problems with them myself. Email me if you're interested.

I saw someone that had some vinyl overlays on their headlights. Not an xB, it was a Honda or something. They were red and the openings were circular at the lights. It didn't look completely awful... until he turned on the light, then it looked like a third grade science project... Might not have the same effect with smoked tint... Just made me think of it.

heh nice spinner hubcaps!!

What's your problem, XBMAN? The mods already deleted one thread because of you RACIST remarks about my spinners. Your message has come thru - You don't like the spinner caps :?

First of all, I could give a rat's ___ about your opinion. All anyone needs to do is look at your post history to see how important your input has been and continues to be.

Second, if you don't have something constructive to say, why don't you keep your keyboard tray shut. In the "what did you name your car" thread, you gave a jerkwad answer of WHO CARES, then later you come and post what you call yours???????

Obviously, I'm not trying to hide the caps, they're listed in my mods. I enjoy them. Every kid at the meets I've been to love them and spin them. I get lots of smiles from other drivers. I get frequent hole shots while people are hypmotized by them. They're a temporary replacement for the stock hubcaps. I get mad props when I drop my son off at school.

Soon I'll have my rims and this may come as a shock to you, but I still won't care whether you approve of my ride or not. It's my ride!

And while we're at it, the English language is useless without punctuation, spelling and awareness of upper and lower case...

LISTEN POSTINGS ARENT GOOD UNLESS YOU HAVE PICS!

With a good fast stop, they'll spin for several minutes.

I've had several people say something about riding "Sprewells" I was never sure how to take it at first, I thought it meant something derogatory. Then found out that he was the originator...

No, Sprewell was not the originator. Davin Wheels was the originator. Sprewell was the first person to publically show off the wheels he bought from Davin Wheels, who had been out quite some time before that episode ever came on.
