Default My Supercharger Dyno w/ new ZPI pulley *Videos Added 11/30*

So i decided to dyno my car today, now that i've had the supercharger on for a few weeks. But before i did, i called up ZPI to see if they had a chance to test out their new pullies yet, which they hadn't. I talked to kenny and asked him if i could test out the pulley for them, and he agreed.

My car is completely stock other than the supercharger. Stock intake, exhaust, everything. I had the supercharger installed at toyota, so it has the reflash done.

With the stock pulley it put down: 195hp 172tq
Just for fun i took the charcoal filter out but left the regular filter in. With the charcoal filter out it put out: 198hp and tq dropped to 168 (not sure why)

So then came the fun part, swapping out the pulley. Swapping out the pulley, surprisingly, only took 5minutes. I had to laugh when we were done because it almost seemed too easy haha..

So now on to dyno'ing with the new pulley. I called vortech to get a rough estimate on how much of a boost increase i should see. They told me for every 1/8th of an inch smaller, you could see 1-2lbs of boost. It measured out to be about 2/8ths smaller. So roughly 2-4lbs increase.

New pulley boost: about 9lbs, so i got a 2psi increase.
Dyno: 217hp 183tq

I still have the stock bpv valve, so i'll be interested to dyno again once i get the bosch 110s.

I got a bunch of video that i'll try and get up tonight, and i'll try and get the dyno graphs to look a lil better later too. But here is a couple quick pics for now.

Stock Pulley vs. ZPI pulley
195.2hp 172.6tq - 217.8hp 183.3tq

Upgraded Pulley - I had my friend Ross say what RPM the car was at so that you guys could see what boost it was making around what rpm. How thoughtful eh? haha.

Nice gain...now get header/s-pipe/exhaust and some sort of CAI and see what it does. Over 250 WHP maybe?

I think this pulley puts the S/C setup right in its sweet spot. With the reflash and the injectors 9-10psi should be just about perfect. Wouldnt go much more then that with the 410's though. I know I was maxing out my 550's with only 14psi on my previous turbo setup.

I am deffinetly in for this pulley. I am having my supercharger installed tuesday. What does ZPI think the results of uping the HP with this pulley will be on the setup?

Thanks for the dyno!!!

no this is the supercharger pulley. We are estimating that boost will be safely raised to 1.5-2 psi on a stock airbox and exhaust. This will yield you more power with the addition of some more mods. This is safe to run on the stock reflash.

We have these for sale now, we will have 30 in stock by the end of next week.

wow only 5 minutes swapping out pullies. i really want the SC now

did you also try removing the bottom airbox like ZPI did yet for maybe better gains?
also are you running a boost gauge? does it confirm the added psi?

Yes, that is with a boost gauge hooked up. I took the charcoal filter out, but thats it. Taking that out yielded 3hp increase. but the box doesn't secure itself shut with that out, so it doesn't really work for driving around normally. Just need an aftermarket intake.

Those are some pretty good numbers, with some nice headers, exhaust and intake id say that could be pushin another 20-25 more hp with all the power the supercharger puts out.

Are you going to leave it installed or was this just for test purposes?

I would be careful just taking the bottom of the box out. The MAF needs to see ALL of the air entering the engine and with its placement in the stock box, air could easily get by the MAF without it being able to know it was even there. Seems like it would cause some problems.
