View Full Version : Who Wants an Intake for their superchargers!!!!!!!!!!

Im in process of trying to get Fujita (F5) to develop an intake that will work seamlessly and not rigged with our supercharger setups. I contacted someone who has very close relations with Fujita, and I think with enough interest they will take up the inquiry. We all know with a better intake setup that it will yield some nice high end gains where the supercharger is working most efficiently. I decided to try and work with Fujita because their intakes look very well developed, and have put a lot of R&D into their setups. Its the little things like including T bolt clamps instead of hose clamps that make me think that this company isn't totally out for the money, but may be actually in it for the customers. Well, Im done ranting for now, but the more interest show in this, the more of a reality this can become. Now lets see some posts thrown up so we can get this thing going

I am deffinetly interested in an intake for the SC. First one to come out with something visual and performance worthy will get my money.

nice...well, spread the word cause like I said earlier the more interest shown the better chance it will get done soon.

just grab a K&N and have a shop cut the pipe before the MAF sensor for $10.

I don't see how that will work. Would need a U-shaped pipe to get the intake pointed in the right direction. Or just connect the "modified intake" to the rubber hose already there. I'd prefer getting rid of all the rubber hoses though.

I am definitely interested in an intake for the supercharger.

yeah i am suggesting this based on hooking to the U-hose which is fine it just is kinda ugly.

do you guys consider the umnitza cold air box, not to be an air intake? or are the performance gains not good enough?

Simplyscion
11-24-2005, 05:46 AM
I dont wanna modify something to make it fit. I dont have an intake already so that would kind of defeat the purpose if I was gonna buy one and hack it to make it fit. Wouldnt it be a lil easier to just buy something that has been designed and tested to run with the supercharger like it came from the factory with an intake. Im liking the feedback, keep it up guys!!

We can have one out in a few days.
All we need is a SC TC to swing by our locationa dn we'll get someone done.

We'll even dyno it on our dyno to get the max out of it.

intakes make such a huge gain for forced induction cars. i put an intake on my old turbo eclipse, and it didnt feel all that much faster, but when i put the stock airbox back on, it was like the car just gained 500 lbs. it felt significantly slower. if i had a supercharger, an intake and better air filter would be top priority.

anybody w/ a supercharger would be interested because that would be one of the only mods that wouldnt void the warranty. also - more hp under warranty is the only reason why im getting the s/c next year.

so other intakes wont fit with the SC?

it doesnt even matter if any of them fit. Because of the difference in air flow and setup you need something designed for peak performance. wait till the beginning of next year and see all the new supercharger/turbo performance upgrades that will be released. You need atleast 10months after something gets released before the "good" products get developed by looking at all the others that have failed. Time man --- i was thinking like you but the more you wait and see new and better parts come out the more you are going to be happy in the short future. Next year atleast 2 companies will have their intakes and headers out for the supercharger. ....im only talking a few months away. You are easily looking at another 6whp with the right intake setup. The stock intake for the supercharger is restrictive. I am looking into things now, i wanna change my mid pipe, spipe and header. Once i get my supercharger ill be around 18whp higher then the person that just put the supercharger on. 99% sure .... those parts are not going to alter the warranty. I want the power but I am going to stick under warranty because I do drive my car the way a car lover drives. I want to be sure that if something goes wrong I have a company there to back me up. I have talked to a few friends that really do know a lot about turbos etc and they all say that its of a huge benefit to know what you are getting into. Because the supercharger is atleast tuned by a multi million dollar company its very safe out of the box. with a few minor changes you can get more power and still have a very very safe setup.....this is exactly what im looking for for my car. Dont get me wrong, the turbo is freakin sweet. Sounds good, you like it, your girl likes it, more power, ....something goes wrong you are going to be spending your own $$ getting this repaired. I have a $430/month payment because im getting my car paid off for asap. till next year I dont wanna have any unexpected things happen. I owned an older truck which i loved. I had it in the shop atleast once every 2 months with new problems. Because i really liked the car i didnt care about the money but (off the records it was a waste of $$)....anyway ... pick what you want but i have already decided on my supercharger. The supercharger just came out and is only going to grow in popularity. People are going to be geting the tc stock w/ the superchargers instead of doing what we are doing cause they didnt offer them when we bought ours. This car is going to only get better and better while still being under warranty. I bought the extended warranty because of my rims. I spent $1,900 and already blew out my rim going over a pothole in traffic (30mph). If i went over it doing 80mph it prob would have went right over it. To make a long story short the state paved the entire spot that was a disaster cause im sure 100's of people had problems. ANYWAY - if i didnt have my warranty I would have gotten charged $230/tire and $350ish/rim. Lets call it $600 --- $1,900-600=$1,300 I pretty much paid $1,300 for 100k warranty that I will have for a few more years....that is why im chosing the supercharger. Sorry for the ramble.

I wont know anything about pricing just yet. As far as number of people, there is no set in stone number, but there obviously not gonna do it if only like 5 people want it. We need a decent following to make this happen.

Well, there will obviously be a lot of R&D done with this. This is why I refuse to just go out and buy an intake to MAKE it work. I would rather a major company go out and do all the hard work and make something specifically designed for the supercharger setup. Rest assure this company is half composed of former Injen employees so you can sleep safely knowing that these people have a lot of knowledge when it comes to designing intakes. Plus the quality of their work is absolutely amazing. As far as pricing goes, I would assume it would be right around the price of their other CAI's and also short rams for those wondering.

i dont have a supercharger yet but in order to prepare for getting it i would definitely be interested in an intake that works with it. i just wanted to post a reply so i can watch this topic.

you dont have to worry about how many people want this product. it was already proven that if you dyno the s/c w/o a filter it yielded about 15whp more....meaning ...the filter is where there is lots of restriction. This is going to be an upgrade that is not going to affect the warranty....everybody that wants more power is going to want this upgrade. Its going to be like getting an intake on the car w/o forced induction.. it adds power by getting rid of one of the restrctions (thats why the headers and spipe are so popular.....they are the most restrictive parts on the car).

just my 2cents

Keep in mind guys, F5 Fujita makes the best quality intake on the market today. The more input, the faster this gets done!

I wish just one company would post pre-results of their dyno while testing so we atleast know the "range" of hp gain from this product.

F5 Fujitaspecializes in intake systems. From what I'm told, the tC supercharger runs very lean when you take off the filtering system that it comes with. Like Simplyscion said... leave it to the pro's of F5 Fujita!

The biggest problem is Im here in NY, and they are there in California. We got a few thousand mile gap thats gotta be closed somewhere :P
Lemme talk to my connection and see whats going on...I dont know exactly if they have a supercharged car to do the R&D with...so if thats the case someones gotta be willing to step it up and Im sure they would take care you for doing so.

i just spoke to ray at weapon r-they're gonna be coming out with an intake for the sc soon. he said that it'll work with the cold air box, and i'm assuming that it'll also go with the ram air kit. can't wait for this thing to come out. i almost both the umnitza intake the other day just to buy it.
