View Full Version : Need an insanely modded xB for $34,995?

It'd be interesting to hear from people who see this whether or not they feel the price is fair... I feel that the price is insane - it's the price of two brand new xBs!!!!!

Don't get me wrong - i'm sure it performs/handles just as good as it looks but that's a high pricetag for a car that is $15,000 stock...

ricer wing ricer wing ricer wing!!!!! and personally, I want a little more for my 34k than an xB. Sorry. I love my car and would hate to get rid of it but if I did and decided to spend 34k on a car I'd get a baby BMW or Mercedes or a nice Lexus. Not and xB

Where's the joy in it!
Buy a new one and mod it better for less, way less.
"OD" your own box , and "Have your Way".

I would buy matchbox's XB instead....much better value

Romanova
11-25-2005, 06:18 PM
I think you'd be hard pressed to get more than $20k for that car. Mods really don't add a whole lot to the value of the car. He would have been better off to part out the car... and even then he would have a hard time with what the parts are worth vs. what he paid for them. He is not doing himself any favors with that auction either... could use more detailed photos and information.
And who in their right mind would pay $27,900 when you could get a used Evo or STI and have a better car overall?

i dont like it personally, but it still stands to go without saying, how many of you guys have had a muti-page spread about your xB in a national magazine?

Mark is probably closest. With this car, theyre hoping you pay for the coverage and popularity it has had, not necessarily the price of all mods on it.

timburdette
11-26-2005, 08:22 PM
It's pretty nice, there's probably more that I do like about it than I don't, but for that much I would rather have an rx-7, s2000, or even a Supra.

Max2k
11-26-2005, 08:32 PM
That's a complete ripoff. You could do everything on that car for a lot less than $20,000 and have a new car with 0 miles.

TheScionicMan
11-26-2005, 09:07 PM
That wing has got to go and it looks like they just hacked the rear lip for the dual exhaust. That rear caliper on the top is odd looking. G/L with the auction...

grizzly_choppers
11-26-2005, 09:26 PM
Yeah, I never really liked that one and they'll never see $35K on it.

I think they're asking only $30K for the Juiced xB down in Des Moines...

Some good parts on it though I guess...

what is it with every car that loves the magazine superstreet, or has been featured in it goes ape____ with the stickers!!?? I just dont get it, there is this early 90s ford probe that drives around joliet, its the turbo charged one and its ___ as hell, and he has a sticker on every part of the car. You can hardly see paint on it anymore! Am I missing something?

i can tell youve never been sponsored for anything. a lot of them require you to have stickers and decals representing the company. easy as that. most of them are required

Scievolution85
11-26-2005, 10:00 PM
well kind of figured that, but then again that probe around my house is more than likely unsponsored....lol. I am just saying those stickers are insane, you might as well put stickers on your nut sack if ur sponsored too then, right? Well only if they asked you too.

looks cheesy but i wonder how it runs with that supercharger.

cherryBox
11-27-2005, 03:56 AM
who needs a supercharger when you've got all that VINYL? mmmm. the stickers alone add like, 50hp... at least.

And YES - I do hear what what said about sponsorships. See those teeny teeny red stickers along the side skirt and the front quarter? those are sponsored. You see the obnoxious ones - the 33, the overdose logo on the side, and a repeat of the same overdose logo on the rear quarter glass? not sponsored. no excuse.

Ok, sure, guy wants to pimp his site. ok np. that doesnt' mean it has to be as distastefully done as his site.

Maybe I am wrong. Maybe I should take on the 30 degree "dive force" cannards? the ricer wing? the carbon fiber sticker on the gas door? how bout the tasteful juxtaposition of interior DVD players and exposed tubular rollcage?

And yes, very impressive to get a full spread in a magazine. two claps.

Ok, so, to each his own.

sexyscionlover
11-27-2005, 04:09 AM
yea i dont like it either. you do notice the 33 on the side and the Overdone (his company) logo though.... enough said. He just sold you on it by you recognizing the name. You may not get a part, but you saw the name and thats what matters in advertising. (Im an advertising specialist and it is going to be worked into my minor with business)

I've never really understood the whole sticker fad. It reminds me of the time when I was driving down the road and some old junker had every bumper sticker you could ever think of plastered all over the car, I mean the paint had become the bumper stickers...or the bumper stickers had become the paint. Anyhow all those logos really make the car look tacky.

I prefer the clean look.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who saw that. Where oh where did the 60k go!....I don't care if that car was featured in Oprah's magazine and 50cent himself drove in it, its popularity and money invested would still not be worth that much. People are starting to be real ridiculous with the prices of these xB's. That is exaclty why it is on a 10 day listing with 2 days left and not 1 single bid.

Sixty thousand dollars on that car?

Bull Droppings

Let's be generous:

$4k for the supercharger
$2k for everything else in the drivetrain
$3k for the brakes
$4k for wheels (motegi?) and suspension
$10k for ICE and all that exterior hideousness

Maybe if they went through a couple xBs before this one.

look past all the stickers, and you will find that there isn't much more done to it than most the xb's on this forum.

22,000 is reasonable.

Would need a new rear bumper, that one is awfull + paint about $500.
Take the wing off and fix + paint roof $400. Take a $100 off if its on the hatch

that is alot of work done to that box you must admit, it is the stock kit but if you start adding it up its alot of money. the supercharger, the brakes upgrade and the rear brakes wilwood only makes the rear ones special order. he could loose the wing on top, that roll cage inside is crazy, 5.1 true surround sound inside the tv's cf parts, that is alot of work. he did overdose on the stickers definitely, i think the stickers make it loose the value alot. if some one bought that with all that work done they should just do the outside over and they are set. after the tax and lojack i put on my box with a couple of add ons i put on the box it was like 18k, before financing. so imagine adding all that stuff to yours and how long it would take and how much, i know you can get an evo for that price, i would :blah:

60K invested, HA!

THAT 60 PESOS....this car has every thing sponsored the owner of this car works for SEMA and he had everything sponsored then he gave the car to his son. the only investment was buying the car nothing else

squirrel
12-10-2005, 12:32 AM
The reason why the xB got so much coverage...................because it was built as soon as it was released, before SEMA 2003, and I don't know anyone that would dump at least $45k into a car off the get go.

But if you look back then, in June-Sep 2003, this was prolly one of only a handful of flipped out xBs, at least to the stage it was at.

There were very limited aftermarket parts out at the time.

Imagine what $60k can do now.

Yeah, I agree w/ Mark, stock color, stock body, canards too high, FnF wstyle wing, non-protective "show" cage, non-flowing graphics, yeah................................Overpriced!

I think they should be happy to get $25,000 for it. People think if they spend a lot of money into the car they are going to get it all back. Yes if done properly you can get some of it back but $35,000 is alot to ask for this vehicle. You can purchase one for $15,000 then have another $20,000 to make it your own.
