i guess the Blue one we saw at AutoSalon is factory color after all...
Munch 04-12-2004, 07:59 PM Sweet 8)
tC4me 04-12-2004, 07:59 PM Damn, the blue does look good. Yeah, I thought the one at the Salon looked like a stock paint job. I wonder were that blue one is off to?
BlueBox 04-12-2004, 08:00 PM i checked the shipping address...and i think it's headed to Cerritos ... Adrian's place?
aqua26 04-12-2004, 08:13 PM it's gorgeous.. i think the blue at the auto salon(?) may be custom one cause according to scion brochure tC blue is same as xA's; a littile darker than the blue at the auto salon.
DJ_Focus 04-12-2004, 08:14 PM That must be the one I ordered...
fearturtle44 04-12-2004, 08:23 PM What is there NOT to like about his car????? Come on JUNE.
Kevin
Rich_Manas 04-12-2004, 08:26 PM color i'm dying to see on the tC is flint mica. i think black and flint will be the two best colors for that car.
also, i'm dying to see the stock ride height of the car cause all the autoshow pics has the lowering springs.
djimpak 04-12-2004, 08:30 PM that ride height looks nice. it doesnt look like there is a 6inch gap.
tC4me 04-12-2004, 08:47 PM Told my dad to keep his eyes open since he works at the torrance HQ. If he sees it, any tC at that, he has strict orders to call me ASAP. Then I'll run over there with my dig. and take more pictures. =o)
The height doesn't look too bad but it's still a little higher than I'd like it. We'll see though when it comes out. Stupid June, hurry up and get here!
BlueBox 04-12-2004, 09:02 PM the photos show stock ride height...with factory option hyper silver wheels...
i would estimate the gap between the tire and fender is 5~6"
LoewWinkum 04-12-2004, 10:00 PM Like CornNuts... I'M ABOUT TO BUST A NUT!!1
That is absolutely FANTABULOUS!!!!
I used to be sprung about WRX's, but this time around, it's a monumental feeling. I have never felt about a car the way i do a tC.
This is it!!!
All i need now is money to buy one come June.
Milhamscion 04-12-2004, 10:06 PM the photos show stock ride height...with factory option hyper silver wheels...
Those are the standard 17 gunmetal (no steelies)
djimpak 04-12-2004, 10:14 PM ^^^yeah. the factory option will probably be the 18 and 19 inch TRD wheels
BlueBox 04-12-2004, 10:17 PM the photos show stock ride height...with factory option hyper silver wheels...
Those are the standard 17 gunmetal (no steelies)
the gunmetal is sort of off though...it looks more silver with darker tone than the regular gray gun metal in person.
djimpak 04-12-2004, 10:37 PM the stock alloys like like its a hyper black or a blackish chrome color at certain angles
BlueBox 04-12-2004, 10:51 PM the stock alloys like like its a hyper black or a blackish chrome color at certain angles
i would agree...in person it does look abit more like hyper-black than gun metal.
DenZinz 04-12-2004, 10:55 PM Nice spy pics! Pays to work in LA huh?
XBBOY 04-12-2004, 11:02 PM Nice pics Alex...Pls let me know when my white one w/ the supercharger comes in...opps, did I just say that... 8)
BlueBox 04-12-2004, 11:11 PM ...
and guess wat... A big-rig Toyota Trailer is now here to pick it up... Toyota Performance Sports Trailer. Furthermore, i just got informed that this blue one will be heading straight to a performance shop..not sure if it's TRD or not... and will be getting a V6 camry engine plus a supercharger...will produce well over 265HP!!!
that is the cit~
Wow! That is awesome the V6 will fit in the tC? The tC really does have a lot potential! Thanks for the info!

Hhhmmm, it's getting the 3MZ-FE (current gen camry V6) treatment? :!: Probably not the old 1mz-fe with that oil sludge issue. Hopefully the exhuast pipes DO NOT hang and is flushed with the undercarraige. I know with the current solara, the exhuast pipes are NOT flush! Just looks ugly not flushed, IMO.
Seeing that pic at first, I thought that the platform and car were dropped off from a plane at 1000ft and then the parachute deployed.  Digging the Blue one.
BlueBox 04-12-2004, 11:43 PM i want a white one just like Nilo... that's my dig. White on black faced 18" rims with silver fat lip. Of course 2.25 drop to go with it. it's gonna be the cit~
Are those fog lights I see, I thought it wasn't going to come with fog lights.
Rousterfar 04-13-2004, 02:18 AM I'm normally all about black, but that blue is really tempting looking! Might be worth going against my normal instinct to have a color that does not get as dirty so fast. 8)

How sweet would it be if it was'nt a super expensive swap. There could be some crazy tC's rolling around 8)
scioninla 04-13-2004, 02:26 AM i checked the shipping address...and i think it's headed to Cerritos ... Adrian's place?

Agent 004 signing out!

if ur being serious then how were u able to order the s/c?...thought it doesnt come out till november...does anyone know for sure???
hjane42 04-13-2004, 04:39 AM I ordered a tC today and am soooo excited! :D
However, I'm having trouble picking a color! I'm leaning toward black cherry pearl but I'd like to know if anyone has an xA or an xB in that color and if it looks purple at all?
I also am contemplating the flint mica or the azure blue pearl.
Someone help me! I can't decide at all!
Oh and if possible, make June come a bit more quickly too!
fearturtle44 04-13-2004, 12:18 PM IMHO, blue or the silver streak. You have a lot of faith in this car by putting down a deposit without seeing or test driving. Hope you are correct!
Kevin
hjane42 04-13-2004, 02:56 PM Don't worry. If I actually change my mind, I can get my deposit back, but I really don't think I'm gonna be changing it.
The car just sounds too good!
By the way, maybe I'm just having a blonde moment, but what does IMHO mean?
fearturtle44 04-13-2004, 03:45 PM Shortcut for In My Humble Opinion. I agree that this car is going to be great. I just want to see and test drive for myself. Unlike the Mazda 3 which is having some "new" bugs (CEL, brakes, air bag sensor), I don't think this car will have 1st run production problems.
Kevin
BigDaddy 04-13-2004, 03:47 PM does anyone know in relation to what does the tC measure up to. i mean as far as size. is it as big as the Solara, civic coupe, RSX????? trying to get a general sense of what to expect. i really want to get this car but honestly even though i've seen the measurements. i can't picture it's size.

hjane42 04-13-2004, 09:04 PM Thanks. Sorry about that, I had never seen that acronym before.
So anyway, if anyone has seen the xA or xB in the black cherry pearl, please let me know if it looks purple at all??? Thanks.

black cherry look closer to a burgundy color... with dark shades and it depends on the angle of the light as well... i guess it does give off shades of purple too...
here's a sample...

tC4me 04-13-2004, 11:03 PM I just got back from my dads work (toyota HQ in torrance) b/c the tC was there!!!!
I got to sit in it and play with the sunroof! Its the blue one from the pictures. The hight isnt so bad in person. Its not a huge gap between the tire and the car. My god i cant wait till july when mine comes! I couldnt take pictures because it was in the garage and they said no. =o( I dont care if your guys don't believe me! I'll give you my dads number and he can tell you if you really want to know that it was true.
But seriously, this car is beautiful in person. Pictures just dont do it justice. I wish someone else could be there so we could have jumped around in joy! (im a chick, we do that stuff) The back seat is pretty big. The seats were reclined so maybe it seemed bigger. AAHH! so much to say but i'm still so shocked that I got to sit and play with it....but i didnt get to turn it on cause there were too many people in the garage. Oh and when you turn the key and the guages do its full sweep, It was like love at first site!
I had to share it with you guys, i just wish i could have taken pictures. Damn it! If i knew anyone personally around my town, i could have taken you!
allblackxb 04-13-2004, 11:06 PM Cool! I personally think a gloss black TC would be SICK!
Rousterfar 04-13-2004, 11:23 PM Ok, I will bite and assume that you did get to sit inside the car.
Please tell us some more details about how the car felt on the inside. Here are some standard questions I am sure everyone is going to want to know. heh 8)
I am going to assume everything was stock.
1. How tall are you and how roomy did the inside feel on the driver's side? Where you able to adjust the steering wheel to a good position? Front seats comfortable?
2. How was the quality of the interior? Did everything feel well made? How did the "Japanese paper" inspired dash feel?
3. What did you not like about the inside? Was there any one thing that stood out you hated or just disliked?
4. Does it come with cruise control?
If anyone else has anything else to add to this list go for it!
tC4me 04-13-2004, 11:36 PM Well, I'm 5'1. but the seat was back so i couldn't reach the pedals, and when i got in the back it was still pretty rooms, i had LOTS of leg room.
The steering wheel moves up and down and so i was able to find the perfect spot for me.
The seat are VERY comfortable, front and back.
The interior had a differnt rubber on the doors because it was for testing or something like that, but besides the doors, everything was really nice.
The japanese paper dash was actually really nice. soft..i think. I was so excited that i dont remember if it was soft but i think it was.
I dont remember anything about cruse control. but isnt that comming standard?
I loved everything about the car, the rims looked great and all. any more questions?
=o)
djimpak 04-13-2004, 11:47 PM wow. thanks for telling us about the interior.
Rousterfar 04-13-2004, 11:55 PM Hey thanks for the answers. I'm still waiting for a hands-on with someone over 6 feet tall. I'm about 6'6" and the Mazda 3 is one of the few compact cars I have found to be comfortable. I am hoping the tC will follow suite, if not I will just give up on the idea and break down and buy a used Accord Coupe or something. haha.
How large was the glove department and the storage department built into the arm rest? Any nice extras like a 2nd lighter-outlet? How about a sunglass holder above the mirror up front? Notice any little things like these?
DibujoB 04-14-2004, 12:02 AM I'm so jealous Erica! I got to see it in LA, but they wouldn't open it up for me :( Thanks for the detailed report, although it doesn't make the wait any easier
the car is absolutely amazing in person, and it is going to be HOT! I just can't wait for the ride and drive, which still isn't going to be until June.
tC4me 04-14-2004, 12:08 AM the glove box was pretty big, i think larger than my corolla. the arm rest had 2 storage spots, one flatter one, that was kinda hard to open, and then the larger one below, that can hold probably a cd case(one of the smaller ones) if i remember right, the 2nd power outlet was down in the armrest. the first one was near the shifter...although this one was an automatic. No sunglasses holder. but i forgot to write last time that it had one option on it, the glowing lights at the feet. looked pretty cool.
one thing i'm starting to not like now that i think about it is the steering wheel, i think it needs to be more sporty. but i think i have to spend more time with it to like it more =o)
sorry im not taller to really test it out for height problems.
hjane42 04-14-2004, 12:26 AM Thanks for the pic of the xB in black cherry.
It does kinda look purple in that pic.
Darn, I really can't decide on a color.
Hey, one other question I had was: Does anyone know if the back moonroof can open as an option or it that one strictly a moonroof while the front is a sunroof too? Please let me know. Thanks.
I really need June to hurry up and get here.
Also, I had heard June 3rd is the actual date but only as a possibility. Has anyone else heard of an exact release day??
tC4me 04-14-2004, 12:28 AM the one i was in, the back sunroof couldn't open. I highly doubt that will be an option.
Munch 04-14-2004, 12:29 AM Thanks for the pic of the xB in black cherry.
It does kinda look purple in that pic.
Here's a picture of mine, so you get a better idea of what the color looks like.

aqua26 04-14-2004, 12:37 AM tC release date is going to be on june, 23 according to scion person at NY auto show.
djimpak 04-14-2004, 01:33 AM I'm so jealous Erica!
i second that!
hjane42 04-14-2004, 02:09 AM I'm so excited about all these pics people are posting. I'm thinking I really like that black cherry, it looks very wine-ish and purply on the pics!
However, I am very upset with that last post about the 23rd!!! I heard the 3rd! I can't wait until the end of June, I'm going crazy the way it is! My birthday is the 24th of June and I BETTER have it before then!
If anyone else hears of a date, let me know please!
aqua26 04-14-2004, 02:15 AM However, I am very upset with that last post about the 23rd!!! I heard the 3rd!
:? I was also disappointed about what she said. let's pray.....
Just imagine how I feel, I will probably not be able to get mine for another year. :(
KAuss 04-14-2004, 10:05 AM Try two years.... I'm paying my car off all in one time... :( TWO years...
fearturtle44 04-14-2004, 12:17 PM Personally I like that the back "moonroof" will not open. One less headache. Also majority of people buying this car will NOT have people in the back seat area a high percentage of the time.
Come on June 23rd.
Kevin
Try two years.... I'm paying my car off all in one time... :( TWO years...
I feel your pain, if I get mine before you get yours and I am in the S.F. area I will stop by and let you drive it for a while.
hjane42 04-15-2004, 03:25 AM So I ordered my tC but I still haven't decided on a color yet.
Thanks for all the black cherry pics. So far that color is in the lead, however, blue azure pearl and flint mica are running VERY close seconds!
If anyone has pics of the tC in either the black cherry or the flint mica, please post them either on this thread or on the specific pics thread. Thanks so much!
Also, I'm welcoming any opinions on the color, I need help! I'm being very indecisive! :D
Chrispy04 04-15-2004, 04:38 AM Personally I like that the back "moonroof" will not open.
On the other thread, http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11190&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 it shows pictures where the back panel appears to be open. Does anyone know if this is only on the prototype or if it's a standard feature? I don't see why they would make the whole roof glass and then not allow you to open the rear panel.
djimpak 04-15-2004, 05:02 AM Personally I like that the back "moonroof" will not open.

there are actually 3 panels. 1 small one, 1 large and 1 semi large. the large panel slides back while the small panel tilts up.
couper2 04-15-2004, 07:50 AM Or said another way, the main sunroof pops up and slides back and the glass strip in front of the opening pops up as a wind deflector. The rear sunroof doesn't open.

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=104951. no need to be rude.
2. i hardly visit this site.
3. i am one of the ones that origianlly asked this question with no one answering me at the time.
4. all i've heard was that it's closest comparison is the new Tiburon. if it is that car is too damn small for my needs.
5. so all in all, thanks for nothing. and again your rudeness is not appreciated.
Anyone know how bad the blind spot is on the tC? Alot of the cars in the tC's class have big blind spots.
reclusedx 04-17-2004, 09:56 PM how is that being rude?....theres no reason for me to be like that on a forum. Just letting you know that next time you have a question try and search the forums....and i supplied you with a link which i'm sure answered you question so chill out.
KAuss 04-18-2004, 02:23 AM It's real common when people refer you to links...
If you're not accustomed to forum culture... It purely wasn't meant to be offensive nor personal...
BigDaddy, there can be even worst ways of answering it, and reclusedx's version was as nice as they come...
s cool tho big guy, after a few forums you'll see what we mean :D
Rousterfar 04-18-2004, 10:19 PM Actually it was a rude way to word things. Just because "forum culture" these days has got to the point that a lot of people don't care, makes it no less so.
KAuss 04-19-2004, 01:50 AM these question have been asked and answered many times.....try a search next time

I seriously find no way where this can be offensive... This is like someone telling a chef to wash their hands before returning to work if they saw them in the restroom...
He merely stated a fact...
"these question have been asked and answered many times"
Then suggested the "proper" solution to the next time a question which would be considered common can be answered...
"try a search next time"
I say that this is a proper way to handle common questions because if no one searches we'll have a billion people posting the questions such as price and minor things like "is this the next Civic?" all over the boards and we don't need that...
How do you take thread locks? Because I find thread locks a bit more extreme but seriously justified...
As an ADDED bonus, reclusedx even included a link providing the answer to the question asked... This is not only helpful, but saves the orignal question poster time by not having him / her find it themselves...
If you can seriously define the offensive part of reclusedx's post, I would love to see it in your shoes...
I'm hot on the topic because we DO have a lot of hot heads that can bad mouth newbies, but from what I'm seeing, reclusedx is not falling under this catagorey and is fairly the opposite...
