View Full Version : More tC Power?
TCBUNNY 11-26-2005, 03:08 PM I have an '06 tC in super white. I drive an automatic, and I am looking for some ways to get more power that is not going to ruin the warranty.
I considered getting a performance chip, but reading on the forums here all of the horror stories of what it does to the engine, that is out of the question. Unfortunately because I drive an automatic, the new supercharger is out as well.
I've looked around the forums, but nothing seems to really answer the question : Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to give my baby some more kick?
I personally cant offer much help on things to do with an automatic, only because I dont have one and pay more attention to the posts directed towards manual.
However, I CAN offer you this....aftermarket mods will NOT ruin your warranty.
Worst case scenario is if something goes wrong as a direct result of your aftermarket mod, the dealer wont fix that particular issue under warranty. But your warranty will still be in place, for the life of it.
Good luck to ya
emiller 11-26-2005, 03:43 PM Why cant the supercharger work with the auto?
Nick06tC 11-26-2005, 03:48 PM I think because of the dipstick location...but i could be wrong
aarontrini85 11-26-2005, 03:55 PM there is another one coming out with spacers to make it work just hold out for that its not bad gains for the price since you get to keep your warrenty
ZPIracing 11-26-2005, 03:56 PM a crank pulley, S-pipe and a intake would be a great start for you to yield some more power out of your tC.
RedLine_tC 11-26-2005, 04:22 PM umm i been told by my toyota dealership that if i do mod. to the engine or n e thing else it wouldnt void my warranty as long as the part didnt cause the reason for what happen to the car...
so if i added a injen intake and my intkae manifold broke for some reason they woudlnt cover it cuz of the injen intake....now if it was a trd intake they woudl cover it
Lyracon 11-26-2005, 04:37 PM that would be correct.....there is a law in which it specifically states that dealerships can not void your warranty unless the part was the direct reason as to why the warrantied part failed. IE your example of your injen intake messing up your inake manifold.

Close but no cigar...
A dealership cannot ever "void" you warranty....they just wont fix it under warranty...your warranty will STILL be in place though

manual=more headache in traffic.
Kenshin 11-28-2005, 02:38 AM Yes it is more of a headache in traffic, that said it doesnt feel like your a loser driving an oversized go kart.
JohnL 11-28-2005, 02:59 AM yeah its a headache in traffic, but then when you get out of traffic and you can real up the RPMs in 1st, 2nd and 3rd to right at redline, it takes that headache right away....
oh yeah and dropping two gears to pass dip____s on the road is fun too :)

Lol the auto isnt too bad but i gave up trying to mod it, my friend did a 16.7 quarter mile trying his hardest with intake. That to me was discouraging, the only remedy for our tranny right now is SC or Turbo both not easily installed on our automatic equiped TCs. Got tired and got me an06 RSX type S. And yes it is a bit of a pain in traffic i just keep it in second and i can roll down to 5 mph before the car wants to turn off.
