Yup. I skipped work today because I knew I'd be driving when the stuff starts falling. I got to wait for a couple hours to buy my snow tires and get them installed. Yay for me.

Just waiting for the white stuff to fall... :tap: I'm at work right now, and don't get off till 6AM.

I love snow! I got my tc this past June, and have already driven up to Stevens Pass and got to see how the tC handled it. Did alright on the stock Potenza's. On way back over Snoqualami(sp?) Pass, I stopped up there for gas and wow, even crawling and trying to come to a stop had the ABS kicking in. I wasn't even doing 10mph, and barely touched the brakes. I hate the pedal feel when ABS kicks in, not to meniton the sound. :nails:

Anyone else seeing high winds too? Power actually went out here at work for about a minute round 7PM.

heheheheheh...

We have to be the only part of the northern US that would be shaking with excitement over getting a forcast for an inch of snow that won't even stick at the end of November...

What's even worse is that something like that IS exciting 'round here. :)

Heh, imaging my surprise when I moved here in 1992, when I was in 9th grade, and had school canceled for only an inch or so. I was a military brat, and before moving here we were in Utah near SLC for 4 and a half years, where we would see a half foot or more overnight and that wouldn't even delay schools! I miss seeing that kinda snowfall on a regular basis...

Put on some studded tires on 14" rims. I can't even tell when the roads are icey! There is a loud buzzing sound when driving though.

Well I don't know about you guys but up here in Everett we didn't even get a trace, even though it snowed through the night.

I know it's WAY different on the east coast when it comes to the weather. But over here. I can't stand it when people have studded tires on. Especially after what happened last night. I'm sure so many people went out last weekend or yesterday or today and put studs on their tires...and there was barely any snow!!! So now, they are going to drive around for the next couple of months and it probably won't snow again and they are just going to tear up the road.

Then, it'll be March or April before they actually take them off. And that's about the time where the same people who had the studs on start complaining about the roads being so bad. So someone will insert an initiative to be voted on in November that will raise taxes to fix the roads. And it will pass. So they raise the taxes, and then we get another dusting of snow and the same people go out and get studs again.

It's just one giant cycle.

This might be a little out of proportion. Seriously though, if you get studs on your car and you live around here, make sure they are off by the end of February. They aren't needed after that. I remember last year it was almost May and there was a guy who still had them on. I yelled at him. He said he wanted to make sure that they were used for the full life of the tire before replacing them.

YES!!! Snow = Snowboarding. and snowboarding = me having a heck of a lot of fun!! gonna be my third season straight i get to board. I wont be driving my Tc in the snow though... I have no snow tires and no ca$h to purchase some... So i'll most likely be driving the Yukon to get to the mountains and board.

I have 'screen 2' switched to one of my outside cameras right now, watching it snow (and stick a bit) outside.
Still not even something most of the northern US would even notice, but a potentially real problem here in hill country.
Most of the schools are closing early and cancelling afterschool activities - and that's before the snow even started sticling to the roadways.
The conditions here ARE different than it is for those who live in the flatlands. :P

That white patch on the left is "snow."

(No, that not my PW xB on the screen to the right of the "snow," that's the OTHER PW xB that lives here...)

I'm up to about 2" in East Bremerton. Looking at close to 6" by the end of this storm tonight. Just started sticking to the ground. Fark. Luckily I called in. Again. Boss wasn't too happy that I called in again, but if she wants to pay the tab for my car accident just so I can get in and sit on my butt for eight hours in a snowstorm, then be my guest.

We got about 3.5" out in Lake Tapps last night, and I was able to drive around just fine this morning with my balding Kumho tires on the crx.

about 2 inches in t-town. The box did surprisingly well and even had enough in her to do a perfect 360 on South Tacoma way when I pulled the e-brake last night.

Ahh the wonders of snow....... it can make a normal man a total 15 year old!

Yo, i usually go board at Big Bear becuase it is the closest mountain to me, but for my birthday, Dec 23, I am trying to go for a weekend to Mammoth. I went there once and it was the shyt.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to use my new chains. :(

(Why are us Pacific NWers so excited about a little snow anyway?)
