pm the guy who did that thread or go to carputer.com for more info. there's a lot of work involved but I think it's worth it.

That person probably has the liliput with vga input. The kenwood ddx 7015 doesn't have vga inputs. If your laptop has monitor output just pick up one of the liliput monitors and you shoiuld be good to go. The monitors sell for about $200 on ebay.

what kind of out ports do you have? the laptop i have has an S-video out, so if you don't have an s-video card, maybe you could some how get one installed and then run an s-video cable into your other monitor

It all depends on what kind of video input the kenwood unit has. The laptop more then likely has a VGA and/or a S-Video output. If that is what your kenwood unit takes as an external input, you are good to go, however I have a feeling that the kenwood unit takes composite cables and if that is the case your laptop has no such output.

If you had a lilliput or any other VGA screen, setting up the carputer would be easier but would still take allot of work. Here is an install done over at www.mp3car.com:

Hope this helps and if you have any questions let me know!

You won't be able to control the computer with the Kenwood deck, if that is what you want. Also from personal experience, the RCA screen looks pretty crappy coming from a computer. Video looks fair, but text is pretty bad.

You should be able to get audio from the laptop to the deck fairly easy, if that is what you want. If you just want music, get an mp3 player. If you want GPS, etc.... check the forum listed above. www.mp3car.com

It looks like there are people here that are willing to help and answer questions, so good luck.

Like he said ^^^^ Composite video is pretty crappy..I myself was going to hookup a composite screen and use it for my carputer but after doing some research on www.mp3car.com i realized that it would not be worth it. Allot of people user Lilliputs or Xenarcs for Carputer setups.

If you do your research on the Mp3 car website you will find that any question that you have about Carputers someone already thought of it...
