Default Cool Charge Solution for the TOTAL sleeper tC

I would like to share this nice find with all fellow tC owners

I did a long search last nite and came across this company www.alkycontrol.com and it seems that their setup is pretty unique unlike what I've come across in the past, aquamist...coolingmist...snowperformance... etc Have you all folks seen this product before?

The water/alky delivery is based on volt signals received from a 3 bar MAP sensor and as the boost starts/increases, a signal from the MAP processor causes the voltage to the pump to activate/increase and (more) pressurized water/alky mist is delivered in the charge tract.

As boost is reduced when on deceleration, the mist delivery/pressure decreases as well until the programmed set point. Eg. Set to start mist at 5psi onwards and stagnate at 7psi and pump will deliver 100+psi mixture to the nozzle constantly adjusting between this range. Below 5 psi, no water delivery. Assume this set point for the ZPI Stage 0 kit w/o intercooler. Very Interesting

The lines are in braided steel (nice bling touch ) and filter washable. The kit has that strong industrial look and built. Check valve is fail safe, overall looks sturdy and durable too. Pump used is by shuflow and the water tanks look like they can hold mixtures w/o problems in the long run

For turbo setup on 10psi and beyond, this would definitely complement or enhance the cooling effect on top of the FMIC. Think of it as sequential cooling before entering the intake plenum

May complement your PWR setup even further by reducing intake temps to 80F in the intake plenum! Allows you to dial in agressive ign timing (+1-2 degrees) and minimise knocking when in Stage 1@ 12psi = 330whp (380ish bhp) .

Hope this would fine tune the decision making to go boosted You would need all the info you can get before deciding on the setup you want that can be both scalable and affordable in future

Did I sound anything like that? Dang!

Sorry, but I just get excited when I find something interesting as I do intend to ask them for an application suitable for the 2AZFE platform. I would like to use that setup for the sleeper look WITH slayer capabilities

Wonder if they will be surprised that the Scion tC/Camry/RAV4 might be wanting to use their product. They seem to have made this injection kit meant primarily for domestics

Reading further...that's a really nice kit. I'm with you, I wonder if they would do a specific kit for our world?

I have a similar setup in my Lexus. Works real well. Just have to make sure you put plenty of safeguards like warning lights. Imagine blowing a fuse on that setup while running 14 psi or so.

Yippee There is a similar injection user in the house.

With 600whp, no less on a sedan......... more Did you run w/o an intercooler or did the injection acted as a secondary aftercooler?

I agree with you on the safeguard measures but I do notice that your Lexus has a HUGE arsenal of audio ordnance AND you're pushing approx 700 to 800ish bhp at crank?? Yeah the fuse and leds woould be applicable to you

I am thinking that if the boost was less than 1 bar with no major audios on board, should not have to worry too much. Would that sound just about ok in your opinion?

I haven't looked at the specs on this, but it seems to me that this should be aplicable to S/C setups as well, correct?

Very nice find! But you may want to reconsider calling it a "sleeper" mod... I dont really consider a turbo charged car with braided steel lines pumping a water/alky injections plus a FMIC a sleeper

OOpps I made a boo-boo.

Yeah, you're right there. How is it possible to have FMIC sticking out and calling it sleeper....

Yes, the setup would be FMIC-less. Got the concept straight now Guess I got a little carried away earlier, didn't pay attention and you caught me

I'm not too sure about s/c though. Different factions have different views on this. It seems that the general consensus think that the s/c did not need water injection at low boost as there isn't much heat being introduced into the intake as the driveshaft of the centrifugal blower is not really subjected to heat unlike turbo which uses hot exhaust gases to drive the opp. impeller fins to generate compressed air.

Besides, it seems that the REAL big power for s/c comes in at 18psi and above? You may need water injection at those kind of psi but I'm not sure

It would be good to speak to an experienced s/c owner who has toyed with BIG boost no. for an s/c setup

umm you can do a fmic and still have a sleeper

i know a guy with a ef9 that has a front mount painted black and it sits beind the bumper with little chanels made out of fiber glass to make the air flow to it even though it is hidden looks nice as hell and stock just required some work

As you all folks know, we're in the tropics so weather is quite hot :

Day temps hit 90F and Night temps are at 80F with humidity levels close to 70%

Btw, an update on the alky injection. I received the email reply from the main man and he actually does alot of business with the DSM and EVO crowd...

uummmm.... Maybe that's why they have an edge. Their secret weapon is out in the open Time to level the playing field

Tropics? Who would want to live in constant nice weather?

Then you never get a chance to be SICK and TIRED of COLD. Snow here, mid 20's

Especially out here! I know you MO peeps are used to tons of snow, but out this way, shiiiit, they close schools for a 40% *chance* of snow, which in turn causes huge flocks to the supermarkets with everyone buying 20 gallons of milk, and 8 tons of toilet paper. Of course, none of this prevents any of the idiots who have no idea how to deal with flurries, let alone accumaltion, from staying off the road
