Default Possiblity of V6 Scion?

Do you think it would be possible to drop a V6 from the Avalon into a xB? I think the xB would MOVE with a V6.....
I don't own an xB just yet, but plan on getting one as soon as my fiance and I get the financing approved. I'm just worried about the get up and go.....
I think it would be bad ___ to have a V6 in a vehicle that light.
Cant wait to go pick mine out! I love the look and thousands of customization options!
Thanks for any ideas.....
Steve

You would have to move the engine to the rear of the car, and you'd probaby lose the back seats as well...and have a very loud car to boot. Plus you'd have a very slooow car on your hands becuase of all the extra weight. Bigger engine does not always mean faster car....oh yeah, and prepare to get like 12 miles to the gallon. Not practical. The engine bay is real small on this car, I don't think the Corolla engine would even fit without cutting into the firewall.

If you put the engine in the back, you could do it, and it would be fast as hell. Engines dont weigh that much anymore, as they are all alloy, the avalon engine probably weighs no more than 200 pounds more than the current engine.

ah hell no!!!!

A boosted 4 cylinder will do much better with less work for a car this size. Save your money and time get FI or wait for a motor swap.

I seriously doubt that it could be done.I dont think any V-6 would fit, engine bay area is pretty small.I think obviously that a turbo or supercharger set-up is the way to go.The fuel economy would not suffer much where I believe with a 6 it would.I would go with a supercharger myself.Just my opinion. The Box rock's.

The Box is pretty much loaded out.

the best engine swap is the MR2 engine... i heard it practically fits into the engine compartment perfectly for the xB.

But as for V6 .. i strongly doubt it.

It should be a slam dunk into the tC, though! (since it is already using the Camry 2.4)

sshh.. i have some inside scoop on the TC project currently under way...

A shop is swapping the camry 2.4 engine for the camry V6 and supercharging it.

The stock 2.4 pumps out 157HP...and the V6 pumps out 210HP stock...but with supercharger...they are estimating to pump out about 265~275HP...that is the cit.

wouldnt you rather have the extra torque and approximately 30 more horsepower of the v6?

well yea more torque and horsepower would be great, but what would be easier? plus is the extra hp and tq if only say 30hp more worth the headache? not knocking the idea or anything...but if i were to ever consider a swap i would either have the mr2 or gts swap on the top of my list... these are at least....performance engines.

The Camry 210HP V6 is the 1MZ-FE 3L engine. Still available on current gen Camry's and Avalons. Also there's that oil sludge issue due to a small cylinder head, I think.
3.0-liter DOHC
24-valve VVT-i V6
210 hp @ 5,800 rpm
220 lb.-ft. @ 4,400 rpm

However, the current Camry SE V6 gets the NEW 3MZ-FE engine. Which also powers the Sienna, Lexus ES330 and RX330 and also is used with the RX400h Hybrid RX330 variant...that was a mouthful.
3.3-liter DOHC
24-valve VVT-i V6
225 hp @ 5,600 rpm
240 lb.-ft. @ 3,600 rpm

You soon to be owners of tC may be the envy of Solara owners :D

I missed my former Camry's low-end oomp :D

Default Dayum...

The 3MZ-FE would rock in the TC. I wonder if it'd be a straight swap or we'd have to cut and set-up new motor mounts ect... Sorry, I'm new to Toyota's (Former Honda Guy, I know booo Honda).

Hahahah, IkonXone, I missed that post. That's funny.

You may have forgotten about this little mod... Who needs a bigger engine when you have this baby?!
