$60 for the complete kit. I wonder how it works. I got quoted at $122 for a complete all around. 10% rear and rear sides, 35% Windows.

I think it would be worth it to spend the little extra and have a lifetime warranty and no hassle.

But if it looks good go for it. Post up pics if you do.

i figure it's not too difficult to do. friend told me he had to try twice and he got it right the second time. the film is already precut for the tC so it should be fairly easy i'm thinking.

I bought a tiny pre-cut smoked eyelids and I had a hard time installing them. Spend 60 more and let the pro do it. Besides it is already December. If you live in a cold area.. its not wise to do it your self.

get it done professionally by a reputable shop... that way, when you notice 1 or 2 air bubbles, a crease, scratches (due to the 2nd rubber in the window not popping back up, or any other kind of defect... you can just roll back into the shop and have them warrenty their install and product

I agree with the pro install as well.

My dad tinted the windows on our old cargo van and after a year it started peling and getting gross. It might have just been because it was crappy tint, or he didn't do a good job....but just pay the extra and go get it professinoally done, that way it's not really your problem if it starts to crack and you can get it fixed under warranty.

I did tint on a VW bus and it wasn't too hard, just tedious. The job lasted five years and then developed a couple of bubbles where the film was damaged from objects inside the car rubbing the windows. I think that doing a car with curved windows would be a lot harder.

If you go the DIY route, be sure to use distilled water. If you use tap water the chances of bubbles forming is greater.

If the difference between DIY and pro is <$100, I'd go for the pro job if you have the $$$.

If you are concerned about legality, be sure that you check on it yourself. The tint guys want to sell tint, so they'll tell you that it is legal even if it isn't They won't put it in writing, though! You're the one left holding the bag, not them.

Go pro. I'm a tinter, it's not something you get right on your first try. And by that time, you might as well have paid a professional.

Seriously, go pro.

Def. go with a pro tint job. And as for NJ its illegal to have any tint on the front driver or passenger windows. As for the back windows you can go as dark as you want. I have 35% all the way around on mine and i like the way it looks. About getting pulled over, its all in the way you drive most cops wont pull you over just for tint, i noticed that. However if you drive like a moron your asking to get pulled over anyway so just be cool and no cops should really harrass you. Just my .02.

imho, look at your car. How many illeagal parts do you have on it? Im in California, my intake, stereo, drop, exhaust, head lights, and tail lights are not legal. So when deciding if i should go for a medium or limo tint, i realized that a cop already has enough reasons to pull me over. I went with limo all around and light on the windshield (very illeagal also, however it isnt noticible due to the surrounding limo)

OTOH, the cop might consider the tint "the straw that broke the camel's back", pull you over, and write a very troublesome ticket for everything.
